Not Quite

Doing fusion was Ms. Chadda at the Gangs of Wasseypur photocall in a white maxi with gold embroidery at the bust. The length made this one a Not Quite for us. Would’ve liked it a lot more if it was floor length.

A Malaga clutch completed her look.

  1. Yup it’s bad and her expression of “trying too hard” aint helping either and I am not sure who she is but she does have a pretty face

    • It’s not a Maxi it’s an ankle length dress and it was suppose to be ankle length since the designer wanted to match the accessories and shoes to the heavy embroidery… TC!

      • chill out!! her stylist is actually my best friend and the length IS messed up as she was not supposed to wear heals as she had injured her knee. the designer made it before she decided to wear heels and hence the ankle length. And anyway….she looks really lovely overall…her hair & make-up, the dress and the accessories are perfect except for the error in length

  2. Is that a Malaga clutch?
Richa looks very pretty here. Yes the maxi should have been longer, but I love the Indian fusion here.. Wish more people got it to Cannes!

      • Oh I’m sorry if I offended you..
If Richa stood in front of me and asked me about the ankle length dress, I would have told her the length looks a bit off.
Or I would have even asked her if her anarkali was missing it’s chudidar pants and we would have had a good laugh.
I guess it is true that she was supposed to wear flats. Infact I was shocked to see her in heels! She had a bad leg (knee) injury last month while filming a scene.. So I though she would have skipped heels.
Anyways she looks gorgeous and I’m truly happy for her!

        Go Richa!!

  3. Hahaha I really wanna meet the Fashioista who has written this post… LOL… First it’s not a Maxi it’s an ankle length dress and second it was suppose to be ankle length since the designer wanted to match the accessories and shoes to the heavy embroidery you BIMBO… Stop writing or else go for Crash Course in Fashion… Huh!!!

    • Relax.. what’s the point of writing the same thing 4 different times. we hear you! That’s exactly what PnP said it’s an “ankle length dress” and would have preferred if it was floor length. And are you the stylist’s PA who is eager to give everyone a crash course in Fashion??

      • Would love to work for her… As for crash corse we at Jean Paul Gaultier don’t consider people who don’t know the difference between a Maxi and an ankle length dress… Keep learning…
P.S. can’t post the link here as it doesnt allow me to; go and check how international media is praising about this Indian Actor… I sitting abroad feeling so proud…

    • R u the designer???

Cos if u are then you should be open to criticism.. you can’t go clarifying and justifying every bit of your creativity to everyone who judges it.

    • Chill sistah! Now even if it’s a so called ‘ankle length dress’ the length is all wrong… And if the designer wanted to ‘match’ all the accessories then the shoes are horribly wrong… An umm how are you so sure it’s an ‘ankle length dress’ And not a maxi dress? Did you design it?

  4. No1 cares if its an ankle length dress/maxi or wat the stylist intended to do with it if it doesnt turn out well. No point in showin off those shoes as they r the wrong pick…delicate strappy stilletoes wud hv done much better. Dat aside, its a beautiful ensemble.

  5. Too bad Rupinder Singh has to clarify to every post that its an ankle length dress …. It certainly doesn’t look like one ….

  6. Don’t care if it is an ankle length dress or a maxi, her pose and attitude are major thumbs down from me. Looks as if her chin is being pulled up by some invisible thread. She is not posing for a magazine spread.

But hats off to the whole team for the Cannes screening.

  7. What an heated argument? This Rupinder looks like a crazy fan of Richa.
Though he is aggressive but I tend to agree with him/her, its not a Maxi and the length is fine. She looks gorgeous.

  8. Apart for the dress debate, I think she looks very beautiful, representing India and Indian cinema for what is should be represented- good acting and good work. I think if there is anyone who could afford to have some attitude it should definitely be her, because of her good work. Cant wait to watch her in GOW.

  10. I really don’t care about the length, at the end of the day what matters is if she is able to carry it off. And boy, she does! Looks the most classy of all the girls in that photo call. What a stunning ensemble!

  11. You guys love an argument. She looks phenomenal.
And most of all, she is in Cannes! Envy has high heels too.

I hope more Indian filmmakers could make movies that break the Bollywood formula. Let’s loose the stigma of an ankylosed industry and move the joint out of the country as well.

  12. I think Richa looks amazing – heels or no heels… Relative to the 4 women at Cannes representing Gangs of Wasseypur, Richa is clearly the front runner… No competition…. As far as crtique around the length of her gown, why can’t people see that she has truly represented the young Indian with her fusion sense of style…. Thats what young women in India wear when they want to dress up… Kudos Richa! I’m a fan!
