Rewind 2012: Our Favorites

Another year ends and we present our favorite fashion moments from this year. Keep in mind that this list is a random order.

You could fine us for liking the first two just because they are practically the same outfit. Yet, each wore their Sabyasachi look so differently and made it their own.

Kalki Koechlin and Kangna Ranaut

Thanks to Heroine, Kareena gave us quite a few standout appearances this year but our favorite was the Ungaro appearance. Bye bye raccoon eyes! Natural makeup and an updo and we had ourselves an instant winner.

Poorna, with each appearance caught more of our attention this year. With the Bibhu appearance, Poorna showed us that she could do edgy as well as romantic.

Neha’s Atsu look stood out for us because it was very different from what we were used to seeing on the Filmfare red carpet. Read: blingy saris and same-ole gowns.

Kajol went through a major style-makeover this year but of all the looks, the one that we loved the most was this appearance in a floral chiffon sari. Simple yet sweet.

Sridevi set the bar high back in Jan itself in the Elie Saab printed gown. We love this look because it was kept simple. No statement jewellery let the gown do all the talking.

We saw Bipasha don Anamika Khanna many a times this year but it was this sari look at Singapore that she looked most adorable in.

Almost all of Ms. Padukone’s appearances have been winners but it was the red on red look in the Gaurav Gupta lace gown that was most memorable for us and part of the credit goes to the hairdo as well. Loved the short look on her.

Speaking of hairdos, even though we had expected Sonam to give us the best moment in Cannes, it was an at-home appearance in this Dolce & Gabbana suit look that blew our socks away. The hairdo was unconventional but Ms. Kapoor made it work and we loved this look from head to toe.

Priyanka’s most memorable look came not at home but while she was attending the Grammy’s. In a Gauri and Nainika strapless gown with sideswept curls, the actress has us wishing for many more such appearances. Alas, we didn’t get that many.

  1. Sush was a complete glamazOn at the I am she grand finale . . . The blue gown, the natural look, no jewellery and add to it she was at her fittest best !!! Karisma has had such a good run with ultra chick, simple elegant styling !!! and Deepika was at her best in that black and Golden gown can’t remember the designer though . . .

  4. The tulle Gauri and Nainika, open back with ruffles gown that Deepika Padukone wore, was definitely worth a mention in your list, otherwise the list kinda sums up the best of 2012. GREAT!!

    Happy New Year!!

  5. DPad looks yum yum!. But Kajol, really? she looks like she draped one of Bombay Dyeing’s rather depressing cheap bed sheets and walked the red carpet.

  8. It’s Kalki, Kangna and Bipasha for me. The rest of them are regular at best. For Sonam, I really liked the red sari she wore. It had a black border. I don’t remember the event or the designer. Kareena’s legs are too stubby to make any knee-length dress work on her.

  11. sridevi was the best dressed, imo, in 2012. this is going back quite a bit but i’d say sonam was the best dressed in 2011. i hope that in 2013 we’ll have a suprise package like sridevi.

  12. One of the few things I’d like to ask HHC about their selection is how come the stylists don’t get a mention? Or do we not know who the stylists are? We all know Kareena most definitely does not make the best wardrobe decisions but HHC still put her on the best dressed list…interesting.

Really with the Kajol pick? One actress who’s as bad as Kareena with their natural style is Kajol. I agree with ^^^ comments about Ms. Singh, you guys missed a good one.

  13. Pc, Kareena, Sridevi, Neha, Kajol and Bips’ looks are completely not mentionable on an annual list.. Kajol definitely had better moments…

N you guys made me like Sameera Reddy by featuring her over n over, n no sign of her here… 😛
neither of Madhuri, or Natasha Poonawala…
Sridevi had much better fashion moments than the one above…

    • noone from anywhere other than bollywood as well…

this is almost a most-frequently-seen-on-or-off-screen-actresses list of 2012… even then anushka’s missing..
