Sari Style

Rekha was the guest of honor at the Dior show and dinner (the night before) and was seen wearing her signature style to both events. If you’ve been around long enough, you know she either goes all out in gold tones kanjivarams or prefers to do all-white.

She looked lovely in both.

  1. Remember there was a time we scoffed at her boring style and heavy sarees (guilty!)? Karma gave us cling-film sarees and bralette blouses. Rekha’s style is for the ages. My eyes are cleansed with this Kanjeevaram sighting.

  2. Is it possible to id her kanjivarams when possible? I have scoured the high end boutiques, but they all pale in comparison to hers’. Just can’t seem to find sarees that match that richness and elegance.

    • Her collection is probaby decades old and came from smaller stores from those times. The kanjeevarams of these days are not going to match up. Having said that though, there are established vendors that are a good source. Nalli’s is one of them. Am hoping others can chime in with their recommendations.

    • If you are looking to buy from the store, try Nalli Silks in B’lore or Chennai. Amazing collection.

They have an online store too.

Angadi silks in Bangalore is another of my favourite. They sell online too. DP’s mom got her wedding sarees from the store.

Next options will be Pothys, Seematti, Jayalakshmi Silks – Kerala, TN and KA. I love Seematti’s collection too.

      Hope these help.

    • I have seen her buy from Kala Niketan in Juhu 😉 I didn’t see her in person but on video – She was stepping out from the store.
