In Anavila
Wearing an Anavila sari, Rasika attended the launch of actor Nandita Das’ new theater initiative, Cineplay. As much as I love the sari and the jewellery pairing (earrings from Silver Streak), I do have a minor issue with the drape. The prude in me wishes the pallu was two inches a bit to the left.
What do you think? Or is it just me feeling that way?

Agreed !! dislike the draping..
Sheh, what a waste of a lovely saree-blouse combination. That pallu ruins it.
Not sure if that drape is high fashion or whatever, but it sure looks sloppy, and makes the hip area appear voluminous. Dislike.
Am wit u. I don’t understand the logic of wearing a sari like this showing one of the girls. might as well wear a fuller skirt wit crop top if the idea is to show off midriff. is tat a cotton sari? and it’s designer? i mean.. why?
Yuck!
How is this drape better than the normal one? I mean, not being prudish, but how does this look fare better than the covered pallu drape? I never understand why it is so important to expose one boob!!
Everyone please stop apologizing for being ‘prudish’. That word gets thrown around too much these days. There is nothing prudish about wanting to see something being worn the way its supposed to be worn. This drape is ridiculous and ruins an otherwise sweet look.
Why is Bollywood obsessed about the one boob display whilst draping a saree !
I agree – dislike the drape.
dear women of bollywood, stop trying to make the one boob drape a thing, its NOT going to EVER be a thing.
Dear women of HHC, stop trying to deny that this sort of drape is a thing. There was a wedding in my family in Hyd a couple of weeks ago- everyone including the bride had worn a drape like this. All the mamis and aunties seemed shocked but took it in their stride better than you guys 🙂
What’s your problem with sexiness!? If the sari can evolve from how it was to how it is why can’t the drape?
Noone really has a problem with sexiness, except there’s nothing sexy and everything frumpy about this look.
Looks incomplete, just like low neck salwar kameez without dupattas and million other ‘things’.
Its like leaving a couple of buttons open somewhere in the middle of a shirt. Ruins the look of the garment, and there’s nothing sexy even if you’re showing all of your insides.
