At Sabyasachi’s show, in attendance were his staunch supporters, Vidya and Rani. You aren’t really surprised, are you?

So, is that another jumpsuit we spot on Rani… Hard to tell from these pictures. If it is, then it’s official. A certain Ms. Mukherjee is addicted!

As for Ms. Balan, how lovely does she look? We love it. She looked absolutely beautiful in her now almost signature style of sari.

    • Vidya definitely looks gorgeous for a change. I presume Sabya took some time off to teach her how to wear a saree elegantly. Love the saree too…great color and drapes so well. Would love to get my hands on one.

  1. Vidya,You look stout, aged and boring when photographed closely in these saris and then suddenly you come out in pretty much the same style(except the hair looks better and covers the 3/4th blouse) – looking beautiful AND elegant. How do you do it?What’s your mantra?
And btw lady, huge fan of your gorgeous hair, would do anything to have that.

    • I think its because of camera angles and lightings….and ofcourse the right make-up. Her close-up pics may look different…IMO

  2. Vidya looks stunning! I can’t take my eyes off of her. I don’t care what people say, and i’m sure many would agree with me, Vidya looks gorgeous in Indian outfits. I think it’s her homey face with twinkling eyes and mellow smile, and the body language. Whatever it is, i cannot imagine her in dresses and the like. So i’m glad she sticks to sarees and salwars which suit her and unlike on most, don’t seem to age her.

My only grouse is that she doesn’t experiment enough in them. When she could wear dozens of varieties like kanjeevaram, ikkat, chanderi, paithani, patola etc, why, oh, why doesn’t she look beyond Sabya’s? Even salwars. Aren’t there any other than anarkalis?

Rekha in kanjeevarams, Sush in black, Priyanka in skimpy dresses,Celina in diaphanous chiffons, Vidya in sabyasachi/anarkali, stuck in the rut all of them. Now Rani joins the bandwagon with jumpsuits? ugh, please, no!

  3. Wowww … this svelte Rani looks fabulous !! And her neckpiece is
gorgeous. Vidya looks great too :-). If Vidya’ fashion statement is sari and she is n’t sent to ‘Janta ki Adalat’ for making similar appearances, then why look at Ms Mukherjee’s fashion statement for this summer as ‘an addiction’.

On another note, wonder why these leading ladies are not raring to experiment.

  4. at first i thought it’s kareena kapoor not rani ,may be it’s make up or hair or BV clutch that made me think that way ,she look beautiful though , and vidya look awesome ,good job you two

    • agreed. she is positively radiant. Rani on the other hand not so much. Her smile is very constipated and the hair is too filmish.

  5. finally she draped it really well. her hair also looks great. coming to rani, everything looks off, the weird hair, shoes and the bunty babli/jab we met pants.

  6. What’s with Sabya’s own dressing sense though. Those shoes… not done!
But, yes, Vidya’s saree si gorgeous. Is it tussar? cotton? what?

  7. loving vidya! as for rani, i wish she would exchange her monochromatic boringness for a more colorful indian avtar that suits her so dearly.

    • Saree is much more versatile than a jumpsuit. You can wear different types of sarees in different ways and portray different images.

But a jumpsuit can only be a jumpsuit done right or wrong.

But its a different story that vidya also always wears the same kinda sarees…

  8. Rani has only been been for 3 appearances and already she is being labelled this and that… what happened to the “omg we’re so happy shes back” brigade??

Leave her to it… she does a very good job at look gorgeous! Theres something so elegant and superior on that face of hers… almost like she doesn’t need to don a sabya sari to grace his presence… cuteyyyyy xx

  9. what in the world is Rani thinking about? just because she looked fine in a million years last time when she wore a beige one doesn’t mean she has to wear it like again and again! i can even see her stomach tiers in this one! CRASS!!

Vidya looks stunning in this one and she always does in her signature Sabyasachis but she needs to get out of her comfort zone and experiment a little. i mean its not like anything close to western is a curse for her. classy clean-cut suits would also look good on her. i’d love to see her in a decent western.

  10. I hope Ms Balan hires the person who draped this saree on her. THIS is how it’s draped. If she must stick to it, may as well learn to drape it right!

    Rani looks fabulous!

  11. The first pic might well be a poster for a TV soap Starring
Vidya – as the perfect bahu
Rani – As the vamp out to steal Vidya’s suhag
Sabya- Husband with no dialogues and singular expression of confusion

  12. rani seems to have gone into jumpsuit phase, though she is luking really toned up!!
vidya as usual is in her sabyasachi saree phase, she luks gud, but we need more variety from her and i know she is capable of it!!

  13. I think Rani looks STUNNING. She just defies the rule that jumpsuits look good only on tall women. She looks so nice and taller as well! 🙂
Vidya…uhhh..I don’t care if she bothered to run a brush through her hair. She looks boring and same as always.

  14. i saw her interview and she said that she wore because she had bought it while shopping with sabya in london. no a bad idea. she looks good.

  15. yes RM was wearing a jumpsuit and loads of makeup. I wonder if anything on her was Sabyasachi?
It was a disrespectful to wear this and share a photop with the designer after he showed the best collection I have ever seen.

Vidya balan looked nice. I dont know who would look bad in a Sabyasachi sari..?

    • i have seen rani’s interview on tv and she was not wearing too much makeup, not atall …n she looked georgeous and her hairstyle aswell….im not sure about her dress though…but whats disrespectful about her not wearing sabyaschi’s dress???she wore his dresses before any other actress in bollywood!! and if she chose to wear his dress and not this jumpsuit than same people might have called her boring!!

  16. I would completely skip Rani here because for one, I just don’t like this jumpsuit on her, in my opinion she looks shorter and broader (Among other problems notice the dark stripes on her stomach area that only tend to emphasise her girth almost making them look like tyres) and two, because she is standing next to Vidya who looks absolutely stunning!! Gorgeous! And I really want that saree!
