Rani on L’Officiel India:(Un)Covered

Ms. Mukherjee covers the latest issue of L’Officiel India in a gold Dolce & Gabbana. The glove and fascinator are a great addition, but Rani’s make-up doesn’t match up to the Vintage Glamour theme. You like?

  2. Too much Photoshop…there’s this ridiculous obsession with making cover girls look thin, to the point that it begins looking obviously fake…Rani’s jawline doesn’t look like her own.

  3. i dont dislike the makeup its her expressions that i dislike!! how can they put up such a picture on a magazine cover…if she is not looking happy the photographer could tell her!!! the rest is perfect!!

      • she looks bored, and confused, and has a classic ‘deer caught in the headlights’expression..add to that the terrible photoshopping..
this looks more like a tacky filmfare cover than a glam high fashion one!
which makes me sad, because she has soo much potential..how gorgeous was she in the icy jumpsuit!

  4. she looks like someone slapped her and put her up there to pose!! horrible expression – definitely not cover-worthy. and yeah, don’t like the fit of the dress either.

  5. It looks like the dress is so tight that she cannot breathe at all and waiting for da photographer to just get it over with. She just looks miserable in it!

  6. No disrespect to this blog, but I’ve been coming on here for quite some time and it seems everytime you guys have a Rani Mukherjee piece there’s always something wrong, I understand this is a fashion blog, but she looks great almost all the time, especially this cover, she looks fabulous! I think you guys are biased…

  7. I think the watch was unnecessary. Love the color on her. The makeup makes her look old. The hair looks clumsy. Agree too much photoshopping

    • B’caz the cover reads ‘ultimate watch issue’, they made her wear one 🙂 Agree, Rani’s jawline is too much potoshopped…

  8. That’s not rani’s jawline…it has been stretched downwards to make the facelook a bit longer…..to much Photoshop….disgusting .

  9. Um sorry but I think she looks Jack-the-Ripper-alley-cat-meets-80s Madonna. . The dress looks cheaply finished, and the fascinator and one lace glove look so tawdry. No disrespect to her, but just the stylist and photographer- doubt she had much say in it.

  10. just doesnt do it for me. it should look effortless, like Jacqueline on the vogue cover or sonam’s photoshoots. thumbs down BIGSTYLE!

  11. She’s so gorgeous, they made her look bad. The hair is so wrong and they made her face look so big. It’s wrong on all counts. I feel sad, they made a laughing stock of my favourite actress.

  12. Love Rani and I’m so glad you posted any photo at all of her, but this photo seems to be a bit odd. The more I look at it the more it seems as though the the head is a little bit out of proportion with the body. I suspect extreme photoshopping of the body has something to do with it. The body, neck down, has been subjected to some drastic photoshop thinning. Very sad since Rani is such a beautiful woman.

  13. really?! I’m convinced they super-imposed her head onto this awkward body! Her face/makeup/feathered hat thing are just fine. but why the awkward pose and that expression? I mean I hate it just as much as Rani evidently does!

  14. Rani’s agent (calling the photographer of Vogue on D-day) – sorry Rani cant make it today… you’ll have to reschedule

Photographer (panicking) – But she was due for the cover, and Vogue hits the stands in 2 days

Rani’s agent – Sorry, nothing I can do

Photographer (after a few minutes of thinking) – Hey mail us Rani’s photo from her drivers license. Am sure I can whip up something using that and good ol Photoshop

And that, ladies and gentlemen… is the story behind this cover..

[do i hear applause in the background]

  15. She does not pull it off. I find her beautiful but dont like that they keep trying to repackage her as sexy, dark seductress or something. Remember that cover styled by Sabya sometime back – that didnt go very well either.
Photo shoots are more than clothes and body and makeup – if you dont own the clothes from within, it wont work.

  16. i absolutely love rani. she has a smile to DIE for and enough class to outshine most bolly actresses. she has a non-diva attitude that is heartwarming. she is a gorgeous desi girl next door and dresses like it.

i’m sorry but i cant find *that* rani on this cover. no smile, cheap ill fitting dress, cheap lace gloves. the colour is awful on her complexion too. the stylist should be fired. and dont get me started on the photoshopping.
