Rani received an honorary doctorate from a local Melbourne University and was seen wearing a blue Sabyasachi sari with a black kiss lock clutch and Sabyasachi earrings. I liked that this wasn’t an overtly glamourous look. She looked nice.

every event doesn’t call for a statement jewelry and heavy makeup. wearing something simple and elegant also has its pros. though, it would have been nicer if the choice of attire was from the handloom basket.
The no-frills elegance itself is the statement here. Such an uncomplicated look to replicate! A simple sari (needn’t be Sabya) in a sumptuous colour – and a blouse that isn’t trying to upstage the sari.

Sorry. This look does nothing for Rani. In my building she could pass off as the ordinary middle aged aunty who has put on makeup for some occasion. The drape is awful. The fit on the sleeve of the blouse is bad. Not much thought has gone into the hair or anything else.
The saree is lovely but this is not a good look for a star of Rani’s calibre to be walking up on stage with to receive an award.
