Doing The Media Rounds

At a promotional event in Kolkata, Vidya continued her Sabya maxi obsession. Rani ditched western wear and jumped into a Sabyasachi anarkali herself. Too bad we don’t have a full-length of Rani. Update: Now that we have a full-length, can’t say I like either. That anarkali is making Rani look tiny. (Thanks ‘Mahashakt’ for the pic tipoff.)

They also wore Sabyasachi saris for their appearance on Jhalak Dikhla Ja. I love the saris on both but wish Rani had on a bangle to complete her look. Catch their appearance here on Youtube (around the 8 min mark).

  1. Rani would look much more elegant if her sari wasn’t see through….Vidya’s sari look is perfect; I even like her in the maxi though the outfit itself is very hard for a petite woman to pull off…Therefore, Vidya deserves all the more credit..Looking at Vidya with her sari and 3.4 sleeve blouse and mogra makes me wish I was living in India- if only to wear these outfits on a regular basis..:)

  2. Isn’t Madhuri Dixit wearing a Sabyasachi Anarkali in Jalak Dikhla Ja?
Malaika Aurora’s dress looks interesting too. Can you ID that?

I actually liked Rani’s Sari, especially the blouse.

    • not really. without any apparent jewellery, her look does seem a bit unfinished. a bangle’d have been perfect. VB on the other hand has all the accessories in place.

  3. the velvet on rani’s salwar looks awful. i like the gajra on vidya’s hair. she is acrrying off the colour of her saree well and she actually looks very cute in the maxi as well.

  4. both are wearing bad outfits in the first pic…and rani is looking usually sexy in the black saree and vidya why does she looks so boring and older than her age…morgo and these earrings are too much she isn’t attending a wedding!!

    • you nailed it! why is it that vidya however beautiful she might look never comes across as appropriately dressed for the event? these days she mostly looks like she is going to the temple or attending a puja, or going for some haldi kukum type of event!

  7. Vidya’s maxi is horrid…hate it…it can look good, maybe on a very tall and stately model on a ramp! Rani’s anarkali–Sabya’s signature style is mixing up interesting prints and textures but this one is just too much!
Both the ladies look lovely in their saris.
