Out And About

In Paris for Sophie and Joe’s second wedding ceremony, Priyanka has been spotted about town sporting many different looks. Of the ones you see, have a favorite?

As for me, preferred her in the ruffled dress. It was the better of the lot. Having said that, I have to add, I am a bit disappointed that Ms. Chopra is not taking this opportunity to highlight some Indian labels.

  1. I like that green peter pillotto dress.. I like the idea of wearing a pant-like dress to a party and this checks off the boxes of glitter, glamour and color!
Rest are meh…she looks the same nowadays…bold lip, sun glasses and a pantsuit. The flared dress actually makes her look wide but i like her hair and the overall casualness of her demeanor.

  2. She looks fierce in the Alberta Ferretti jumpsuit. The ruffled dress is so unflattering, and the one on the left is plain ugly. She is quickly losing her fashion mojo. Some pointers from Sophie or hiring her stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, would be good for her.

    • Sophie has a different body type, is model-like tall with an angular face. So, taking lessons from her won’t be much help. Hiring a different stylist – yes that’s something that might work.

  3. I don’t understand the need for her to ‘highlight Indian labels’ just because she is Indian. Simply put, It’s along the same lines as ‘she should represent Indian culture’.

    • Per her own words in the latest Instyle interview, she has become more adventurous in mixing and matching Eastern and Western. I have yet to see that.

      • Payal !! Lets not even talk about the Instyle interview. What was that five life lessons?
Lets chalk that off as a bad day and not take that interview seriously 😛

        • All her interviews are cringy. Sorry I know it seems like I am ripping on a fellow female (as I am really in awe of her grit) but after I point they are just painful to watch. There was a view one that was horrible as well. That being said, I agree she doesn’t need to rep Indian labels. Besides her whole raisin d’etre /brand strategy is introducing the burgeoning Indian audiences to flailing western brands (The Jonas brothers being one of those brands).

The ruffles look is my personal favorite.

  4. The unrequired expectation to highlight your Indian ness.. at your American sister in laws’ second wedding ceremony.
She looks good in first 2.. more so in the peach dress, on the internet (pictures) it’s a completely different dress with a huge weird leaf like flap on the pelvis, making the dress more like a cover up.

  5. I wouldn’t read too much into that statement. Clearly an editor came up with the east meets west theme of that photoshoot and they made it a part of the interview. She is no Beyonce in Hollywood setting new trends. She still has to conform to land jobs.

  6. Her team needs to go back to the drawing board. There is nothing fashionable or stylish about her looks. Looks like she is trying to ape the Jenners and the Hadids which, on her, looks quite ridiculous. And plz, that instyle gig she did was so cringeworthy.

    • Nope … She is usually in a lot of hair extensions and half wigs… But she has found great pieces that blend well with her real hair texture… So a lot of times it looks natural

      • Thanks. But why the need to hide her real hair? Isn’t it more time consuming to get the half wigs on or have extensions put in/taken out?.

  7. She first needs to get rid of white footwear, especially those boots. I think the hair suits her just fine- it’s chic and effortless; the dressing is anything but. The latest black outfit she had on was very good IMO.

  8. Everything has been too curated and stylised for far too long. Less dressed up perhaps? I don’t mean dont be well dressed but in her case, everything is too ramp ready. Would be good to see her own her style.

  9. I don’t think the issue here is her not wearing Indian clothes. It’s that in the past year since hiring Mimi Cuttrell, PC has zero sense of personal style. She is trying to copy the Hadid/Jenner style of dressing which is being a clotheshorse, wearing a head to toe look of designers she’s probably not even aware of and only stepping out of the house for a look the paps can get. It’s all about dressing to be photographed which entirely takes the fun out of it watching her.

Whether she looks fab or drab is irrelevant, it’s just not interesting to see her dressed up as it’s like watching a mannequin walking out of a shop display. And no, that was not a comment on her body type at all, it’s simply referring to how her personality has been rendered to zero, which is a shame given she’s one of the few btown actresses with a strong one, to be a hanger for Mimi’s sense of style. It’s just not her.

    • In the same event where she is dressed in a ruffled dress, sophie was in a simple white tee and jeans, not sure why PC has to walk like mannequin all the time, what is she trying to prove. Cant she just go out like a normal human being

    • I so agree. If there’s anyone who has potential to infuse personal style into trends and make it her own, it would be PC because of her personality. But she’s wasting her resources and access by sticking with Mimi.

  10. I think Payal’s comment about highlighting Indian labels isn’t wrong… I think if you are going to market yourself as an Indian crossover star East meets West, you are gonna have to embody that in your style too. If you’re making money off of the culture that you are representing, why can’t Indian fashion benefit from that?

    • But why in Paris at someone else’s wedding? And out of the blue when she has never (or hardly ever) worn Indian labels internationally before? And no she is not making money off of the culture she’s representing…that IS her culture and she doesn’t know anything else. She is Indian and doesn’t need to prove it by subscribing to your idea of what it is to be Indian…that’s the beauty of diversity.

  11. Guess who lost the memo again?
Always sticks out like a sore thumb amidst the brothers and their ladies. Cause everyone is flowing with the casual vibe. She is always over dressed. And not very well at that.

  12. One disaster after another…nothing, absolutely nothing she has been wearing lately had made me sit up and notice plus those terrible shades make her square face look broader and bigger and highlights her short neck. Sorry for being critical but for someone who has worked hard at getting where she is today, she should make better fashion choices.

  13. She has got beautiful curves & yet none of the dresses accentuate that. Either too loose or a bad fit. What’s the point of wearing designers if they look like that?

  14. She does not like Indian Designers , infact she finds the designs rubbish. She always asks for international labels even when she is in India , and even if she ends up wearing an indian label for daily wear , she refuses to be photographed in it and goes to great lengths to make sure she doesnt get photographed in Indian labels.

Her interviews are the most misleading , fake interviews ever. She doesnt follow a single thing she talks about in her interviews. Believe Me

    • I believe you cause I have a first hand experience of her PRs lack of interest in image circulation when she sports western/indo-western Indian labels!
I understand we are a over crowded “designer label” market with lack of great work at least in western wear but there are some very good designers who have done wonders on an international platform as well.
Maybe only Anushka’s style team can sell the idea of Lovebirds and Palmer/Harding to the star. But PC. Ughhh. Never!

  15. Her fashion game was never really strong, but for the past few years I haven’t really liked any of her looks at all.
She can or cannot choose to wear Indian labels – that is her choice, but I have issue with her getting dressed up as a Real Housewife of NJ; the way she is dressed here.
    What happened PC?
Is she looking for a Married to Jonas reboot or a part in the Real Housewives series?

  16. And not just her dress sense, I see some changes in her face as well. Somehow she looks very different from last year. The last I liked her was in her mehendi pictures. Is it me ? That apart, her confidence and determination and grit to reach for the stars always amazes me.

  17. Why is she overdressed like that for going out and about in Paris. How about casual denims and Tees or any other summery simple comfortable clothes, Indian or western. Come back to basics dear, dress accordingly. It is summer and hot in Paris now.
