Priyanka attended the BAFTA Awards in person with Nick on Sunday evening in London wearing a red embroidered jacket and silk draped pants from Pertegaz. The jacket seemed too snug and the addition of the necklace to draw the eyes to the décolletage just made the overall look feel tacky. Why she didn’t wear the Ronald Vanderkemp black look that she also shared on social media the same day is beyond me. It was a far better outfit.

  1. Maybe it would have been tough to sit in such a columnar gown? But I agree, the black look is SOOO much better.
I think you nailed the comments for the first look…but for once, I really like the draped silk pants. It looks so well tailored and makes me want to try them!

  2. While the others put her on their best dressed list… glad you march to your own beat. I personally didn’t like the look and even the black one was okay.

    • a button-up rather than a button-down in the red atrocity would have come across as less unfinished and tacky.
the black is definitely better on the eyes, except that it does tend to look like a butterfly massacre, in the middle. When will the stars understand that less is more? and that goes for cleavage show too

  3. The butterfly like bow on the black is beautiful, I dont know why she is showing off her nails like that… looks odd
The first look is not great at all

  4. She gets a chance to be on a red carpet during a pandemic and this what she wears? Aside from the obv tackiness, I’m so baffled by her outfit.

Some fits work on paper, but don’t when when worn, and thus you’re able to at least visualize the intended look.

Priyank’s, on the other hand, is just too confusing. This is prob the worst outfit she’s ever worn.

    • I don’t mind what she is going for theoretically. But it never seems to actually execute well – her discomfort is always visible. It’s like when people wear strapless and constantly pull up the bodice – whatever effect was intended ends up being distracted from.

  5. In the videos she looks uncomfortable to say the least. The clothes look worse in the video. Like someone said, why can’t she visualise an outfit after being in the industry for 2 decades.

  6. Aren’t these award shows a place for upcoming designers and big brands to showcase their gorgeous gowns? That said the whole look was a disaster right from the hair to the pants…total fail..the black gown fared better however I just didn’t like that hairstyle..

  8. First look is a big NO – Jacket is one or two sizes too small and it looks like she “forgot” to wear a cami underneath that tight jacket. Those talons – WHY? And that hair and makeup don’t belong with the outfit.

Minus the (yet another) forced attempt to draw (unnecessary) attention to her décolletage, she fared much better in her second look.

  9. Looks like these make me think I don’t get high fashion. I thought the 2nd look was salvageable, till I saw the giant dead(?) butterfly in the belly area. She looks great face up though.

  10. The red jacket look is ghastly and tacky. It looks too small for her and in her interview she spent the entire time awkwardly holding her hands in front of it, presumably to prevent a wardrobe malfunction. Why wear such a restrictive and uncomfortable and tension-giving outfit which doesn’t even suit her and isn’t a graceful or attractive look?! Ridiculousness in the name of looking edgy.

The butterfly outfit is better but I don’t know how one is supposed to move in that skirt.

  11. These two looks are extremely bad, might have been ok on a newbie who is perhaps learning the ropes, but not on Priyanka who’s been in this industry for decades now. Epic fail.

  12. I might sound boring, but cleavage show is alright when done the ‘normal’ way, as in the second outfit. She looks absolutely stunning in it and with the right amount of drama. The first outfit is all kinds of wrong and I am not talking of that jacket alone.

  13. Cant believe someone with access to the best of designs would wear something so hideous. Just to stand out? That jacket is atrocious to say the least, that hairstyle does nothing for her. I’m still scratching my head. The black dress is just a shade better but terrible hairstyle yet again.

    • I so had that thought.. why caricature yourself in silly western wear when you can really do a great job in a saree/suit. Really, Indian actors need to own themselves and their roots.

      • If some Hollywood lady starts a trend to wear sarees our bollywood band will jump on to it and copy the “trend”.then our folks will end up wearing sarees to the beach and gym too, just bcoz it’s an international trend

      • Caricaturing will get her featured in Vogue etc. what will a “boring saree” do for her? Nothing!

  15. I do not know if she is under some sort of pressure , but i hate her these too much cleavage looks which look useless or incomplete, like she forgot piece of garment, or she wore just to show she still got it, but then sitting/standing and different color foundation separating neck down and face.
Atleast small bralet would have looked better. Now people are going to look at boobs, not beauty of her jacket. But then her jacket is that we can find easily in India Sarojini Nagar market or anywhere in India, so may be that’s why boob show 😉

  16. PCs neck is very short and the uptight achkan kind of jackets make for a very stumpy look. And the Boob show only makes it look worse. Very bad pick, very China town souvenir store like outfit

  17. I feel like its a trend for women in showbiz to display cleavage as soon as one starts putting on weight at the waist. I don’t mean to body shame at all.. I myself put on lot of weight at the waist post marriage (but I am not in showbiz so I do not wear clothes to divert attention to my cleavage). Showbiz should normalize weight gain in one’s 30s.. It’s normal and common. I feel like Aishwarya dresses to divert attention from her waist with low neck gowns in Cannes, and so does Priyanka. I respect both these women for what they have achieved, but their dressing sense these days makes me feel like its driven more by body image issues than a sense of style.
