For a daytime event, Ms. Chopra did one thing right by choosing to wear white. Unfortunately, everything else went wrong for her. Between the tacky sari (or whatever you want to call it) and the belly button piercing, we couldn’t decide what was worse! This outfit actually makes us like Ms. Saran’s South Filmfare Awards outfit now.
It doesn’t end there though. The make-up that looked bearable indoors looked really ghastly in the sunlight and if all the above wasn’t bad enough, choosing to wear a really hideous pair of sunglasses really killed it for us.

You know what, if she wore that as a simple sari, she would have looked lovely, the hair actually looks decent here and the earings work well with the outfit. Unfortunatley, the sari is horrendous.. How can she do this to herself? The shades look minging too.

Me too. First thing that came to mind was something between Mallika and Rakhi Sawant. Who would’ve guessed Priyanka could dress so very horridly that I would associate her with the image either of these gals holds.
She looks trashy and I am actually embarrassed for her because nothing works. She doesn’t even have the figure to hold a sari anymore-curves of some form are essential to make a sari work but then again it’s not like she is really wearing a sari here. I’m beyond annoyed at all of these celebs that have completely trashed the most beautiful form of Indian clothing there is.

I can’t wipe away my memory of the crass and loud and tacky works she’s done the major part of her career thus far and the reason is it’s occurred the core of a person can never change no matter how much of the green grass they see on the other side, no matter how many Dostana’s and Fashion’s and Nokia ads and WYR’s happen this part of her personality is clearly innate.

I’m not surprised at this point. I’m only disappointed as this girl has the potential, that few have to be somewhat genuine in an industry bursting with narcissistic pseudo-intelligent girls who live in bubbles and giggle and flirt like crazy (Sonam kapoor ahem ahem)…
Her columns really reflected it and I took to her quite a bit. It also comes across in some of her interviews, where the interviewer is smart and he/she asks questions which require honest and insightful answers. To put it honestly, the interviews in which she wants to impress the interviewer i.e: the ‘beautiful people’ interview recently. Her screen presence and potential really hit me in some scenes of ‘Dostana’ and allot of ‘Fashion’, some ads especially the ‘Nokia’ one.
Although I guess does get caught up in the glitz and the glamour, if the press calls you smart, you are smart, if they call you a fashionista, you are one and if with a few mediocre films they say ‘great actress’ your fantastic. Please guys get a reality check, come out of your bubbles and go and see the outside world, and see for yourself how small you feel.
This is where my fondness of guys like Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor comes in, they have potential, they apply it. There in touch with the world, and they’ve seen it.

But for us, dressing appropriately ESPECIALLY when traditional indian wear is worn, is far more important than just making it to a red carpet.

guys, i went to this event, and saw her in real life…i even got some really good pics (p.s. she grabbed my hand)! but i have to say she looked amazing in real life…these pictures make her the outfit look a lot worse than it did in real life…i personally would never wear an outfit like this, but she was owning the look from head to toe…lots of confidence and ease in the way she acted, adding to the grace of the entire look!

She doesn’t have any curves. At least I don’t see them. When Kat or Lara wear a sari they have curves. Priyanka had them sometime in her life but no longer.

I am in shock. I’m in shock because this is Priyanka Chopra and I thought…silly me.. that she would have some class and some self respect.
Honestly… I didn’t want to bring Aishwarya into this but I have a lot of expectations when it comes to Aishwarya and especially when she attends or first started attending western events because I was like: “ok out of all actresses Ash is the one that could make it big in Hollywood”..and to me at the time that was really important because I wanted everyone else in the world to say that she was as beautiful as I thought she was.. so when she showed up sometimes looking not up to what I thought she could look like (Neeta Lulla horrid outfits) I was disappointed.
I have to say though, Aishwarya has NEVER made me feel the way I do now when I look at Priyanka’s outfit. I might think Ash may look boring sometimes or not as trendy as she could be but at least I’ve never felt embarrassed to be Indian and to love Bollywood movies when she steps out into the media’s spotlight and THAT is what Priyanka has made me feel… embarrassed to say “yea that’s Priyanka Chopra she’s one of our top actresses in Bollywood movies and I love Bollywood movies”.
If she was fit.. it might, MIGHT have been…somewhat, minorly passable but.. I mean look at her stomach! I’m not talking about weight here, because clearly she is skinny but I am talking about muscles.. she has no definition in her abdominals right now and so she shouldn’t be flaunting them. Basically, if she had the abs of a Pussycat doll, then dressing like them (because that’s pretty much how they think a sari should be tied) would be minorly acceptable but even then it would be embarrassing because who wants to win Miss World, be considered a top actress and be compared to a Pussycat doll? Or Mallika Sherawat?
It’s funny because I saw a girl dressed in a tiny tube top glitter bandeau (from American Apparel) as a sari blouse once with a regular black sari tied around herself at a university formal and I thought that was unbelievably horrible and not classy looking..and now here is Priyanka looking worse than that girl because at least the other girl didn’t have her entire stomach showing! Her shades look ridiculous with what she’s wearing.. she might as well have worn sneakers with the sari and gone for a little stroll.

PC killed herself on this one! She represented Bollywood actress’ so disgraceful. Terrible choice of saree for day event is she trying to compete with Mallika Sherawat. I was there at TIFF yesterday.
She looked alright, but a bit too revealing, (note it was like 10 degrees outside)
She could have taken off the sunglasses in the beginning, and she should have taken more pics wit her fans. Rani Mukherji absoloutley rocked TIFF. She appreciated her fans and took the initiative to sign a lot of autographs. I’m pretty sure Priyanka Chopra didn’t sign more than 10 autographs. Rani walked all the way from the begnning to the end and greeted fans in every section. Priyanka did a horrible job at TIFF, she skipped so many people. It was very disappointing because fans were waiting for more than 3 hours in the cold and Priyanka was only there for 3 minutes (half the time posing for the media pictures) All i can say is, she let the fans down….

fashion is about experimenting. photographs taken in sunlight can be a let down if not done properly. So her pic with the makeup looking not ok could also be due to bad photography. She is a pretty lady and is quite photogenic. The outfit with a proper blouse would have looked much better. The lehenga is worn with some exposure of the navel. Up to the individual’s choice. For promoting films, which is business, the film star has to at times wear things which are not so commonly worn.
I usually am a fan of sexier Saris, but this is not sexy at all. I think Bikini, Backless, Strapless cholis would look better if the pallu is draped over your stomach. She could take some tips from another Miss World (Ash) on how to wear a Sari.
It seems she makes it a point to show her skin at every event. A lot at that and totally unnecessary. She makes the sarees look almost vulgar everytime.
