We love the fact that Vogue editor, Priya Tanna chose to sport an Indian designer at the recent luncheon hosted by Vogue.

And boy, are we glad she chose this particular dress from the designer’s collection coz’ the previous two Anuj Sharma Spring 09 sightings didn’t impress much (see Here and Here)!!

It’s a dress we like both on and off the runway. You?

  1. Sad to admit but I feel like you guys are starting to lose your touch. This version is the least impressive of the lot. Having a billowy dress at that length ends up hiding the shape and does nothing for the wearer. The other two versions at least had some provision to show off shapely legs/ankles/the collar bone and shoulders. Cinched at the waist would’ve made the other two marginally better. This one completely blows…

  2. I absolutely hate it on Priya. It give no shape or structure to her already curvy body… it looks like gravity worked on her hard.
I love it on the runway though…

  3. i am sorry, but this looks like a shapeless satin bed sheet and does nothing to enhance Priya’s body and makes her look bigger than she probably is.

  4. I’d have to disagree on this dress looking good on and off the runway. It’s got no shape whatsoever. As if she just got out of bed and bunched up a sheet around her. It makes Priya Tanna look heavy around the hips and legs. On the runway we can see the model’s slim figure only because she’s walking and the fabric is hitting against her body.

  5. Agree with all the aforementioned comments! Its only because the model is so gorgeous that the dress looks half-decent. Very unflattering!!

  6. I hate the white…its so shiny…and the black lining is such a bad contrat to the white…these sort tent dresses look better on tall skinny people…and if u absolutely have to wear it, shortening it and cinching it at the waist would help

  7. The white version on Priya Tanna ..may I say, looks like a bedsheet hanging on someone (someone who sleeps in their b’day suit perhaps), the earrings are dated. I like the runway version and the other pink dress.

  8. I actually quite like this dress and think she looks great in it. So she’s not a size zero, whats wrong with that? I love the cut and form of this dress.

  9. This dress is ugly and it makes Priya look HUGE!!! I agree with the bedsheet comments!! Even I can make a dress like that .. this is fashion?!?! NEXT!

  10. satin when used incorrectly (as on priya tanna) ends up looking like sleepwear… the knot looks very random to me and the outfit in entirety looks like a huge ugly bib..the designer’s never impressed me much…DIY clothes do not cut it with me..

  11. Totally disagree! The dress is way ahead of its times! Just because its not the conventional fitted one doesn’t mean its a bed sheet. Wake up ladies! Lack of structure is a good thing – very Japanese! Priya looks good! Give the editor of Vogue some credit – she knows what she is doing.

  13. i don’t like the dress on her for sure
but i like the critisism again P&P even less
just cause someone might have a different opinion and like a dress a lot of ppl don’t doesnt mean they are ‘losing their touch’
    definitely a tad harsh
sorry about my being harsh…i get a bit upset when i read comments like that (e.g. i cant believe you guys like this – what is wrong with u – type of things) – and i have seen many of late.
feels like this website and P&P’s efforts are being taken for granted

    • I agree. This is P&P’s website and I dont understand readers/commenters who think someone is ‘losing their touch’ or ‘working for vogue’ just because they prefer something. It shows a definite lack of maturity

  16. After reading your comment policy that we should not call someone fat or ugly, but rather that the person doesnt dress well for her body or age, I would like to say that Priya Tanna doesnt dress well for her body and age. I like to say what I feel, if you like the comment post it, if you dont like it dont post it, I never complain that my comment was moderated or not published.

  17. Mmm… everyone makes mistakes. Priya Tanna made one… but I admire the confidence she is emitting in this pic… The dress does’nt seem to dampen her spirits.

  19. This dress is not forgiving at all, like it the runway colour more, the white makes it look even MORE like a bed sheet lol:P It does nothing for Priya

  20. please tell the lady editor to invest in some undergarments to uplift those babies. my nanny 20 yrs back had better style than her.

    • i actually quite like it . i mean the whole point of the dress is to show that it CAN look good on everybody, irrespective of their size. hhaha :p now , everyone cant be a skinny model in a tight dress. i don’t know , but i think she pulls it off pretty well.
