Dressed Down

Preity Zinta attended the Olive launch dressed way way down in a Kings XI Punjab t-shirt, denim capris and flip flops. Wearing a team t-shirt considering that the IPL series is over seemed quite out of place but I still think she looks good. (Can you ever go wrong with black and denims…)

But flip-flops to a restaurant launch? Acceptable or not?

  1. Flip flops are only acceptable at a beach – even then there are soo many fun ones I have seen recently – with sea shells etc. Preity’s reminds me of Bata Hawaii Chappal

  2. Given that she is dressed way down, but i think the verdict of the ensemble you wear is primarily dependant upon the attitude you team it with and when you have the confidence and elan of Preity Zinta you can once in a while dress way down and yet, get away with it 😉

  3. Funny…but when we have Ash “dressed down” nobody forgives but when Ms. Zinta is dressed down…everybody is a saint! hahaha…

  4. I think it’s cool! Olive is a place where your attitude matters much more than the designer togs you’re wearing (and there are plenty of those around as well…)

  5. Preity looks good? Really? Her face looks so puffy and the capris with the flip-flops to a restaurant launch, no matter how laidback, is a no-no! Its an insult to the owners and other guests when you don’t even make a little effort to look presentable! Other actresses would have been targetted with bitchy comments for turning up like this. Only Shahrukh Khan can carry off the casual denim look everywhere…no one else.

  6. preity looks like she just tumbled out of bed. i used to be a big fan of hers but i recently heard from some extremely well placed people in mumbai that she’s not a nice person. and she treats people who work for her like crap : (

  7. nope.. i am not saying she should be dressed in her sunday best.. but this is way too casual for a launch.. even a normal person wouldnt venture out like that.. so a big THUMBS down to her! not working..
really sad to hear about that @ priya.. and i thought she was all for social service etc..

  8. She looks like she is roaming around in her house. Couldn’t understand the choice of kings XI t-shirt…or for that matter everything that she wore

  9. i saw a close up on preity on buzz 18 and i think she looks really preety, compared to 2 years ago when her eyebrows were looking bad, i mean shes always been cute but for the past couple of years she’s been changing her look…i wonder who her plastic surgeon is…or if she even has one…buti have an inkling she does because of the way her face keeps changing, and trust me its def not weight loss

The red thread is a token of blessings that is tied by the priest or any one conducting a Hindu religious ceremony. Doesnt have to any ceremony in particular. Also the thread has to be worn till it wears off. (Thats why there have been pics of Priety with that thread on even at major red carpet events e.g. Cannes.)

  11. Olive isnt all THAT, and I think nice flip flops are fine worn to that restaurant. The food is just ok and its usual bollywood based patrons are pretty much devoid of any real sense of style (if it is not fake european/us designer, right off the shelf). She fits right in dressed like that for a regular meal there.

  12. If she wanted to wear the team shirt, why doesnt she get a more fitted one made for her…maybe sleeveless and a nice neck?
And OMG those flip flops!! Suitable only for the beach.

  13. she could’ve worn a different pair of shoes.. not flip flips.. flats maybe? or heels.. or pumps..
and is it just me or did she put on weight? , not dissin’ just asking. (:

  14. Maybe she doesn’t own anything between Louboutin/Jimmy Choo’s and Bata/Presto Chappals! The red thread on her hand might just be a regular Mauli, but since Madonna wears it too, it has become popular in celeb circles as a ‘Kabbalah’ thing. The Kings XI t-shirt is meant for publicity…since the next IPL is a year away, might as well keep reminding people about it as all publicity is good publicity and it doesn’t cost her anything…wish Akshay Kumar would wear the Delhi Daredevils t-shirt more often!
