  1. Ok, my ignorance showing here, but am really curious to know why clear sandals are always referred to as stripper shoes?

  3. I think most people in India are not aware of the association (i.e. clear heel => stripper heels). I was definitely not aware (although I never wore any of these). But maybe we need to go easy on such things, because globalization is not complete yet.

  6. This girl can do so much more but somehow she manages to fail every time!
I am not a fan of the “stripper-shoe” either! Here, they make the whole dress look very tacky for some reason! ..or maybe it is!

  8. pretty dress…awful footwear…and she seems to have put on some weight on her face…but maybe its just this appearance, she was having a bad bloated day…happens to most women

  9. That’s actually not a bad dress.. I like it in parts.. I like the jeweled neckline but i don’t like the way it flares out. It makes Prachi look bigger than she is..

  10. Why wouldn’t they just go with nude colored sandals?!?! that would look so great with indian skin tones!! plus that dress does nothing for her, makes her look real boxy and heavy up top, and with no waisline… she’s so young, i wish she would wear some fun funky clothes…

  13. Gah! stripper shoes, are they really popular in India? I have seen quite a few well heeled (ahem) indian celebs and socialites ruin an already border-line fugly look with these sandals.

  14. the neckline though pretty, doesn’t do much for her.. makes her look very top-heavy…makeup’s nice though.. too bad the shoes and the silhouette mar the look..

  17. I agree with zee, we probably need to go easy on the labeling atleast in the posts

I myself was not aware they are called that, though I always found them cheap looking

  18. the color of the dress is lovely but it makes her look wider than she is
yucky yucky yucky shoes…I had ones like that when I was like 9 and pathetically unfashionalbe/nerdy… I blame my mother (which brings me to a point- stripper heesl they are not)

  19. @priscilla: you just got me excited for a second..but that’s not an engagement ring. Engagement rings are worn on the left hand 🙂

  20. Since her debut film, Prachi has gone chubby. She doesn’t have that cute girly look anymore. Her hairstyle also doesn’t help.

  21. The shoes are terribly tacky, but I must admit I have a soft spot for slim transparent heels because of a long-standing Cinderella hangover! :p
