In Dona Matoshi

At the awards last evening, Pooja was photographed in a multi-color Dona Matoshi sequinned gown. Wearing her hair in a low knot, she rounded out the look with a dark lip. Pooja looked striking; she worked that gown!

  1. She worked it???
Horrible gown. The pooling at the base, the poor finishing where the bodice meets the skirt. The sequins have fallen off from the right sleeve seam. How could the stylist, celebrity or the blogger miss this??
    Let us nitpick’em all.

  2. It is a striking gown but it’s more of a photo shoot gown. I think all these gowns look so out of place and lackluster because of the red carpet backdrops. These backdrops are just like some college posters. (Actually, college posters are better designed!!)
I really wish award functions focus a bit on the background, lighting etc because stars are putting in so much effort to be fashionable. Lest they can do is provide a good stage.

  3. When I look at these sequin gowns, I wonder how much plastic went into making them and how they will pollute our oceans and food 🙁

    • Yes, I don’t care for such fashion and I don’t mind if celebrities around the world stopped wearing glittery sequin dresses. To me the planet and environment is important. Always loved natural and organic fabrics like handlooms, cotton, linen, silk, jute, khadi. And also kalamkari printed clothing is good for environment as it uses natural dyes/colours made from vegetables and fruits.

  4. Yuck. Also big ups to Meghna on the sequin gown/plastic comment for bringing up our environment into conversation where it is unfortunately rarely ever a concern.
