During LFW we spotted Ms. Purie in Malini Ramani’s latest taking in the designer’s show. Yup, that’s a gown from the designer’s ‘Bombabe’ segment shown that very night.

The next day, we spotted Koel in another Malini Ramani dress, this time from the designer’s ‘Mexican Martini’ segment shown the night before. Koel was wearing this dress while filming her talk show (she seemed to be interviewing Manish Malhotra and Suneet Verma) and then later to Vikram Phadnis’ show.

Loved the yellow on her.

Rimzim Dadu: LFW Summer/Resort 2010

Rimzim Dadu too showed an Autumn collection during the LFW and it was a collection that was heavy on texture. Really heavy. And that’s a good thing.

The mix of faux leather with fabric was amazing. Whether it was ‘Zipper’ embroidery, owl motifs or intricately woven leather, it was all masterfully designed and applied. It just screamed craftsmanship.

After sitting through shows filled with flouncy dresses, diaphanous saris and collections with their never-ending use of crystals, we loved this one.

Anand Bhushan: LFW Summer/Resort 2010

Anand Bhushan was one of the few designers to showcase Fall/Winter 2010 collection during the LFW. And jackets, dresses and coats in chocolate, burgundy and purple dominated the collection.

The silhouettes themselves were simple and basic but it was the construction with it’s embellishments, embroidery and texturing that really stood them apart. Loved the heavy-on-texture, leafy jackets. So much drama. And the pencil skirt. Hot.

The use of bead-work and pleating on dresses sure kept things interesting. Some of these outfits were immensely wearable with loads of visual interest and we really hope to see them off the runway.

Some folks can throw different things on and it somehow works. Not so, in the case of Madhoo, who looked less than pleasing in the blue sequin top, weirdly fit denims, electric blue sandals and brown bag. And if the outfit isn’t bad enough, may we draw your attention to that big-ole zipper?
