Scarf Style
Guess who loves her Hermès scarves?! 🙂
We love ’em too. And now, if only she’d ditch those denims. *shudder*

It was a day of back-to-back events for Bipasha Basu who first attended the unveiling of the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine after which, she headed to the premiere of Pankh in a shimmery black dress that she paired with her Tod’s clutch.
The thing about sequinned/shimmery dresses is that unless it’s exceptionally made, it tends to come off looking tacky. And something about this dress screams tacky. Love the shoes, love the clutch, love it all neck-up but the dress itself…
P.S: Looks like Bipasha is in Burberry on the cover of Marie Claire. We may have cover wars on our hands! 😉
P.P.S. Thanks ‘Rinki R’ for the shoe spotting.

Err… Red Hot, this is not. Why of all the gowns out there Ms. Malwade had to choose this red Shantanu and Nikhil number sure beats us.

Narmada fared so much better in white than she did in black which she wore to a recent premiere. The look in black just seemed to have aged her beyond her years; was so dowdy/matronly.

Drawing inspiration from the ‘Sailor’ isn’t something new… sadly neither was Rimi Nayak’s execution of it.
Her collection ‘Azure Amour’ that drew upon the theme of the ‘sailor’ and ‘his sweetheart’ saw of lot of blues and whites naturally, with looks that ranged from heavily nautical to Grecian silhouettes. Some of the pieces were interesting but it mostly left us wishing for a fresher take on a ‘done-that’ theme.

Debarun Mukherjee, Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010
With an inspiration like ‘chanachur or Bombay Mix’, a mixture (snack) popular in Kolkatta, our interest in the collection was piqued. But what came out of Debarun Mukherjee’s collection called “Miracle Mix” was one big disappointment. The color palette was mostly a mix of rusts, browns, mustards and burnt oranges and the silhouettes seemed rather uninspired. The embellishments and embroidery just seemed so dated. Perhaps the only thing interesting about this showing was the goody bag with the mixture packet. Yum.
