Vision In White

Wow was my reaction at seeing Dia at Shabana Azmi’s 60th birthday bash. The actress wore a one-shouldered dress with a knot detail at the hip, pairing the dress with sky-high platform gold sandals, a gold clutch and what’s quickly becoming her trademark, a beaded necklace.

The themed of the party being Head Gear, Dia also added a gold headband. While, some take the gold aspect and go OTT, Dia’s look was just right. Loved it. You love?

Léger Love

We all have our favorites when it comes to dressing up but nothing beats Ms. Godrej’s love for Hervé Léger dresses. At the Dabangg premiere, she was spotted in a white one which in itself look good on her but the look as a whole was a downer because of the tan sandals and the odd necklace.

Last night, at Shabana Azmi’s 60th birthday bash, Parmeshwar added her other trademark to her Leger look, the beret. She contrasted her all-black look with a white scarf around her neck. Of the two, definitely preferred her black look more.

NYFW Spring 2011: Naeem Khan

Evening-wear and more evening-wear. Naeem Khan’s collection played (in a rather flamboyant manner) with nudes, florals, beaded embroideries and enough shimmer to keep the magpies in us happy. Styled on the runway in his wife Ranjana Khan’s jewelry, the gowns were glamorous, the cocktail dresses were chic and the caftans were yatch-and-champagne ready.

Which way to the Riviera?

P.S: The nude strapless gown (extreme left, bottom row) and the white beaded number (second from the left, second row) practically scream Michelle Obama.

Real Life To Photo Shoot

First seen on Amrita at the Twilight Eclipse screening, this Elise Overland green dress made its way onto Priyanka in a Filmfare photoshoot. The Priyanka picture is probably retouched making the green look more emerald but the shade is so droolworthy and the Dior sandals look good with the dress.

LFW Winter/Festive 2010: Krishna Mehta & Soumitra Mondal

Considering wedding season is around the corner, be prepared to see a lot of wedding collections during LFW. Day one had Krishna Mehta and Soumitra Mondal presenting such collections.

Krishna Mehta presented a couture collection consisting of lehangas, jackets teamed with saris, and short dresses. Chikan work featured heavily as did sequins and embroidery on fabrics like georgette and jacquard. Like we said, with Diwali and wedding season coming up, there are sure to be many takers.

It’s hard to believe that Soumitra Mondal’s collection used khadi as the base fabric because each of the pieces thanks also to batik looked so pretty and rustic. The collection featured kurtas, lehengas that seemed not too bridal, which is always a good thing since you can wear it more often.
