In Sabyasachi

At the Indian Film Festival-Bollywood and Beyond in Australia, for her various appearances Vidya was spotted in Sabyasachi saris. But of course. Of the three very different saris, which was your favorite? Have a favorite stand-out look?

We loved all three saris but as far as a look goes, we’d have to pick her appearance in the yellow-mustard silk on far left.

Leisure Pleasure

Dissecting a look can be exhausting, passing a verdict, nerve-racking. A girl’s got to have her downtime, no? Turn your shoe-lust into a memory game and have yourself some fun. If you start seeing stilettos everywhere though, don’t you go blaming us!

In Twos

When it came to these ladies in their stone-colored jumpsuits and pumps, our vote immediately went to Kim on the left. The black pumps may have been a safe choice but they were still better than seeing satin green pumps with a cotton jumpsuit.

P.S. Props to Priyanka though for changing it up!

Gauri and Nainika: LFW Summer Resort 2011

In creating a world of fantasy for their finale show titled “The Fantasy Collection”, the Karan sisters seemed to have skipped on paying attention to the clothes. Lanvin-esque ruffles and Marchesa-esque folds dominated a predominantly white collection that consisted of cocktail dresses followed by gowns, marked by two very dramatic ones with voluminous skirts.

Gauri and Nainika seem to be forgetting that the same internet that allowed us to watch the show live (LFW TV woot woot!) also has opened up access for everyone else to international runways. Any fashion lover can now distinguish between original voice and a very borrowed one. Let’s just say we were very disappointed.

The show that consisted of dancers on stilts ended with the Faces of Lakme, (Amrit, Shraddha, Lisa, Vipasha, Indrani and Liza) closing out the show(see inside).

Pria Kataria Puri: LFW Summer/Resort 2011

For her last collection, jewel-print took center-stage, and this time around, Pria Kataria Puri drew inspiration from Marrakesh. Rich in kaftans of many lengths, tunics, dresses and saris, the collection wasn’t color shy. Crystals, mirror-work, embroidery and silk tassels were embellishments of choice for this collection, while fabrics like chiffons, silk, crepe and jersey were fabrics of choice. Though some of the pieces were heavily reminiscent of her last collection (see second row), some of those kaftans were beautiful.
