A plain dress in a neutral color with an embellished neckline is hard to go wrong with, and yet, these two ladies show us just how to…

The asymmetrical hemline and the rather overwhelming (and dare I add tacky) embellished neckline on Shonal’s Pria Kataria Puri dress does her no favors. Let’s not even get into the hair. As for Neetu, she does fare better but only marginally. The silhouette on her isn’t the most flattering either and the hemline sure could use a couple more inches.

You may have heard about Jessica Simpson travelling to India for her show ‘The Price Of Beauty’. (Catch here.) The show aired a couple of months back and featuring in it besides Neha Dhupia and designer Ritu Kumar was also Meena, a girl who got an Operation Smile makeover. Meena, post her operation, got to attend the Operation Smile Gala held in NY last night hosted by Jessica Simpson and was positively radiant.

P.P.S. Did the show make you cringe too at the stereotypical pattern of starting with “everything is so odd” and ending with “it’s so spiritual”.

It’s just one of those fabrics that never goes out of style and what can I say, we are suckers for the print Ikat (both the traditional weave as well as in it’s mimicked digital print form) . Whether it be on clothing, on upholstery or on tableware, we love it. 🙂

Ms. Saran has been taking great strides and all in the (almost) right direction. Considering how far she has come (from jewel-tone dresses and odd-fitting minis), we’re gonna give her a pass for that unsightly bra-strap because other than that, she looks quite lovely.

P.S. Is it just us who find a shoulder bag being carried as a top handle/tote weird?
