In Rohit Bal

Yay! It’s that time of the year already! Yep, Cannes has started which means not only star appearances but star appearances in beautiful outfits (and for some not so beautiful ones).

This year, Deepika Padukone will be attending the Film Festival courtesy an invitation from Chivas Regal (a Cannes Partner) in Rohit Bal designed outfits and at a press meet to make the announcement, the actress wore a white and maroon anarkali. As much as I am excited for her, am not digging the makeup with this anarkali. Fingers crossed that it only gets better from here.

What’s In A Name?

We’ve seen plenty of design houses draw inspiration for their collections from India, nothing new about that… But it’s been quite a trend recently to name products after Indian names which don’t really have an immediate coherent connection/co-relation and that often has us shaking our heads in amusement.

Take a look at these La Perla pieces… interesting eh?

WTHeyyy!!!

We thought it couldn’t get worse than those pair of chappal sandals. Apparently, it can! We’d any day prefer Ekta dress like the women in her soaps over having to see her like this. But, doubt that’s ever going to happen. 😛 Until then, we’ll just keep hoping for a divine intervention.

The Pink Ladies

I’ll admit, pink (to clarify baby/light pink) is not my favorite color (and I have probably repeated this time and again), which is probably why I am not drawn to either of these two ladies’ looks. But, if I really really had to pick one, I would have to go with Shamita’s. The brown belt works much better on the pink rather than the grey shiny one.

Coming to Asin, not only she has that shade of pink that I despise, the outfit also has my next least favorite thing on it. Rhinestone-y embellishment. H.A.T.E It.

In French Connection

A fun floral print with edgy lattice sandals. I should like this look instantly but somehow it still is falling flat for me. Me thinks it’s those black straps that aren’t working for the dress and the look. What say you?
