In Falguni And Shane Peacock

In a body-con F&S dress, Priyanka launched her single, ‘In My City’. Though we are baffled by the addition of those diamond drop earrings (by Gehna Jewelers), Priyanka did look good.

In Zara

Pairing a Zara shirt with green pants, Tisca attended a book unveiling event today. The nude Loubs were perfect for the look but finishing the look off with a black Chanel clutch didn’t quite work. Especially since she also had on a blue Ferragamo belt.

In BCBG

Parvati attended day one of India Bridal Week in a BCBG pleated maxi paired with a Chanel flap bag. Don’t care for the red lips but she looked nice. What baffles me more is that the same person that picked the cute maxi also picked the horrendous pink dress below.

Doing Black

Doing black at the CHOO 24:7 STYLEMAKERS event were both Sophie and Preity. Don’t mind Sophie but we felt really underwhelmed seeing Preity. Perhaps, it is time for us to set the bar low on expectations when it comes to her. At least, we wouldn’t constantly feel disappointed.

P.S. Sophie is wearing the Flaxely sandals and Preity is wearing the Baxen wedges with a Chandra clutch.

Marchesa, Spring 2013

We’d been waiting eagerly for the Spring 2013 Marchesa presentation ever since we saw their moodboard here that hinted at an Indian theme. The collection didn’t disappoint one bit. Dresses that used brocade fabric were left simple and free of embellishment and likewise heavily beaded dresses were kept simple at the fabric level. Subtle use of draping inspired by saris, separates resembling lehangas and churidaars-suit ensembles dominated.

We wouldn’t blame you for drawing parallels to the Chanel Pre-fall 2012 collection or for that matter Dior’s Fall 2009 collection, but we think Marchesa brought its own voice to the collection, one that we liked.
