Freida attended the red carpet on day one of Cannes 2013 wearing a custom Gucci. The hot pink halter gown featured a beaded belt that was the highlight of the gown but also competing for attention were the sandals.

This gown had me at the color but I would’ve preferred to see studs on her. A braided updo side bun, jewellery from Chopard finished out her look.

Vidya’s first appearance on the red carpet for the screening of The Great Gatsby saw her in another lehenga. While she looked regal, we couldn’t help but have a sense of déjà vu about the look.

You may all know that Vidya is part of the Cannes jury this year which means we will have sighting of her on the red carpet every day. Yippie!

Considering she will be wearing Sabyasachi throughout, there might be some apprehension that she may end up looking the same everyday but day one itself she proved us wrong.

For her arrival at the Hotel Martinez it was a red anarkali and just when I thought she looked great in it, she upped the ante in a simple white sari at the jury photocall a few hours later.

Will Vidya finally help erase the horrible memory of Aishwarya and her stint as a jury member circa 2003? It’s looking that way so far. 🙂

For a round of interviews on day one of Cannes, Sonam was seen in a simple Huemn black and white sari. Adding drama to the look were the gold Suhani Pittie earrings that just went on my lust list. Lanvin flats finished out the look. Love it!

The Nanubhai Education Foundation’s Fifth Annual Gala took place on Friday where designer Payal Singhal’s outfits were on display as decor. Also wearing creations by the designer were a few attendees. Some of you may find a few of the faces below familiar but for the rest, the ladies below are American actresses of Indian origin.

Melanie in the royal blue maxi was an instant favorite followed by Ami in the lime green one. Our least favorite one had to be Pooja. Who was yours?
