Vidya may just have found her color! In a red Sabyasachi sari, she attened the latest premiere at Cannes. The same pulled back hair, fresh, dewy make-up, jewelry by House of Surana and a Ferragamo bag completed her look.

Vidya cut quite the elegant picture on the red carpet, no denying that. But her throwback to the time of MGD, dare we say, ages her a tad. We aren’t ageists and if that’s her thing, so be it.

She looks gorgeous but truth be told, the novelty’s beginning to wear off and as much as we champion personal style, we can’t help but think her Cannes outing is now beginning to look gimmicky with just this one kind of look re-packaged and presented.

One could however argue, if she looks this good, then why reinvent the wheel?

Zoya along with her fellow directors presented Bombay Talkies at Cannes 2013 on Sunday. The young director who favors western clothes is rarely ever seen in traditional wear, which is why this appearance of hers in a Manish Malhotra sari made for a welcome change.

This is way out of her comfort zone, so I will not point out that a wee bit of kajal perhaps would’ve been nice to see on her. Oh wait, did I just point it? 😉

Nimrat, who is in Cannes for her movie Lunchbox attended the ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ Premiere with her fellow actors. For the red carpet, it was a Sabyasachi sari lehenga with earrings by Amrapali with red lips to complement the black and white look. She looked pretty.

Her look is the third Sabyasachi (after Vidya and Aishwarya) of the day. We’ll admit it, we’re now yearning to see something else already…

Vidya isn’t the only one to sport Sabyasachi while in Cannes. To attend the Gala celebrating hundred years of Indian cinema, Aishwarya picked a Sabyasachi couture lehenga-sari. The Bollywood meets Baroque vibe of the lace and velvet sari with its gold work was rather interesting.

Sure it was blingy and it even reminded us of the whole Dolce and Gabbana vibe from Fall, but we did think Aishwarya channeling her inner baroque princess in the sari made for an interesting change. Of what we see, we like. Once we see more, it may (or may not) change.

While we hunt for a full-length, here is your first look at Nandita also wearing a sari on the red carpet. At first glace, I found the necklace competing with the earrings, but the more I look, I don’t mind it.

She looked great.
