Jacqueline on L’Officiel: (Un)Covered

L’Officiel released its Jan edition with Ms. Jacqueline featuring on the cover in a strapless Gauri & Nainika gown. I may find the bag placement a bit odd but there is no denying that this was quite a striking cover.

I, for one, loved it.

Of Separates

Enjoying a night out with her brother at Olive, Huma was spotted in a separates look that included a floral skirt by Esha Amin. Like her casual look?

You’ll remember Karisma wearing a pants version of the same print just recently.

In Turquoise & Gold

Bipasha is becoming quite a Turquoise & Gold fan. After being spotted in their tops in Goa, she was seen recently in two kaftans from the brand. First, at her birthday celebration with friends and earlier at a promotional event for Alone.

Must say, she looked great in the floral one.

In Burberry

It was a Burberry dress for Aishwarya while at a recent beauty launch. Fendi cuff, Dior pumps and a striking red lip finished out the actor’s look. Aishwarya looked good and that shade of red (lipstick) is fantastic on her!

Retail Therapy

Dramatic prints aren’t for everyone, clashing prints even less so. But when done right, separates in (mis)matched prints can both help one stand out and be individualistic. Who wants to be a wall flower really?

If you have always wanted to mix prints but have been scared to, here’s an easy one, two, three. Pick something with an easy, casual vibe. Start with colors in the same family. Take black and white for instance… While the separates can be two strikingly different prints, being of the same color, will be easier to pair. When wanting to play with different colors and prints, stick to complimentary colors. Like say purple and pink! And finally, for bit of a retro spin (you know we like our vintage), pick graphic prints that are only slightly different from each other. Say polka dots with smaller dots or horizontal stripes with vertical stripes for that rad Seventies vibe.

The key to mixing prints boils down to really owning what you wear. And having fun with it! Go on, try something new this year!
