Rohit Bal: 1961 – 2024

On a Friday here in the US while prepping for late Diwali festivities, received the news that Rohit Bal, one of India’s OGs, had passed away. Growing up in the 90s, Mr. Bal was one whose designs I drooled over. I never got to meet him but still remember the day I walked into his store decades ago and bought my very first “Rohit Bal” which his sister lovingly helped me select.

My condolences to his family and closed ones.

At a Diwali event, Rakul was seen wearing a cape and dhoti skirt set from Awigna by Varsha and Rittu paired with juttis and her Bottega Veneta knot clutch. She looked nice.

Seeing Red

Priyanka celebrated Diwali wearing a red sheer Sabyasachi sari. Between the heart motif sequins and that feather trim, I didn’t care for the sari at all. It looked so very cheap which is a surprise for a Sabya design. You like?
