In her silver sequin Naeem Khan gown, Ms. Lakshmi literally sparkled on the Emmy red carpet on Sunday evening in Los Angeles. Was it in a good way though? Not quite.
I don’t mind a statement gown but in this case, it was just too much bling overload. Picture the same gown in a sleeveless v-neck version and I think it would’ve worked way better. I also felt the hair and makeup was a bit lackluster. We’ve seen Ms. Lakshmi do way better.

Second that. The fit on the back of the bust was more of an issue than the bling overload.
Saw the video later (awards show fashion police is my guilty pleasure) and it was an open back. The fold happened only when she posed and/or bent.
The dress actually fit her like a glove

It is good she kept her hair & makeup simple to let the gown be center stage. She looks lovely except the slight fit issues. And that body!!!
I think she looks so fabulous and so young!
We don t let our corner darzi get away if they mess up the fitting then how come these celebs who have access to high profile designers, hi fi stylists etc. don’t notice that the fit is off?
