In Manish Malhotra
Mrs. Maximalist Poonawalla sure delivered at the Met Gala in her custom Manish Malhotra gown featuring parsi gara embroidery with a collar piece from Atelier Biser and jewellery from her own collection. Loved how she incorporated an Indian craft into the theme. No complaints. (Ok, maybe a tiny one. If going for Parsi Gara, why not involved Ashdeen who is more known for the craft.)
(P.S. I’ve got kathak class, rest of it will be post after two hours! :P)

Reminds me of Queen Elizabeth I and not in a good way.
Agree. What does this outfit have to do with the theme?
Diljeet and Natasha win this in my eyes!
She was the worst among the desi attendees. Priyanka, Diljit, Kiara … so much better! This is maximalism for the sake of maximalism.
Love! She’s the epitome of go big or go home (yes, am looking at you, SRK). Love the use of gara. Don’t think Ashdeen could have executed that sharp outfit.
remind of a spider slowly spitting its saliva to weave a web
She nailed it. This is not a Manish Malhotra , it’s a Natasha Poonawala. Manish has only executed what Natasha imagined because this look has Natasha all over it. Love the Indian embroidery, love the bustier , love everything
Totally! Love that the clothes she wears actually reflect HER aesthetic and personal taste rather than just the stylist’s.
Oooh she’s mailed it
Love the whole look head to toe
Name someone else who could pull it off like her. The outfit is the perfect balance between maximalism and demonstrating craftsmanship. And the skin is making me envious!
Excessive and over the top. This may have fit a victorian theme not the one last night. Fail in my books.
The gara is two existing saris converted into gowns. So she probably needed someone like a Manish to structure it into the gown silhouette she wanted, which Ashdeen wuld have probably not been able to do and was also not needed since there was no fresh embroidery to be created.
Love that she repurposed the saree
Simple question: Didn’t her neck hurt after that lampshade was wrapped around her neck?? Mine hurts just looking at it.
On a funnier note: She looks like Tom from ‘Tom and Jerry’ after Jerry puts a lampshade over Tom’s head 😛 😛 😛
PoonAwalla…the incorrect spelling is rather unfortunate
