Whiteout

Natasha attended the 2026 Met Gala in artist Marc Quinn‘s signature orchid brought to wearable form in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. The white of the outfit and the asymmetrical diamond earrings made for such a striking look. I, for one, loved!

  1. Might just be but I found this a little underwhelming…like don’t you just feel that Nat P has done this kind of look time and over again?

The Met is where she usually knocks it out of the park with a never seen before look (even for someone like her) and to be fair, neck up, she looks fab and the jewellery is incredible as always.

I think the criticism should be passed on to the designers who have put in a base level effort for an orchid inspired dress-yes, we all know the art theme but c’mon there has to have been a more creative way to envision Quinn’s work?

  2. The outfit does a good job at resembling an orchid and she stands out as the look is meditative and serene in such a riotous circus.

  3. Usually I like that she keeps it interesting but for some reason this looks like she stepped out midway out of a washing machine in a Surf commercial.
    It doesn’t land

  4. She must stop looking like those bald orange men in 90s Fanta ads for things to look good on her. What on earth is up with brown women tanning themselves to look orange?!

  5. This looks less orchid and more pelvic bone to me! Maybe coz am doing a yoga anatomy course…and also coz even white orchids have some subtle colours.

  6. The more discerning members of society must stop with this modern “emperor’s new clothes” bulls*h and discourage where we can this desanctifying mockery of good sense. Be it art, policy, fashion or cultural shifts we NEED to return to objective standards and a reject “performative” trends that don’t hold up under scrutiny. I feel the rich keep testing the boundaries of the amount of garbage they can peddle to us in the name of post-modern/progressive values. Bit of a sad joke that this woman is considered a doyen of good taste in these pages.

    • yep. agree agree. but thats what it is. our general interest in fashion itself is quite frivolous. and this is just taking that to an extreme. who is to decide what it too-much. in general, fashion as self expression is not a very solid way to self express. and ok, if it is kept in check by way of it only being ‘art’ and remained inaccessible, i get it. all forms of human expression are valid. the problem with fashion is its memetic nature. we want to follow, and thus exist the influencers. we want to see the show, and thus rise the performers. we need to introspect, why we even come to this site, why we spend hours and thousands of rupees curating our wardrobes. there are no objective standards per se. one has to define whos POV is it objective from. truth be told, i personaly dont care about fashion, im not at all trendy, hate shopping, all im interested in is being neat-ish. yet ive been coming to this site for 15 years (holymoly!!!) and im frankly having a cathartic conversation with myself right now about wasting time on something that im not even interested in.

fyi, this is not a response to your comment. it is me making sense of me.
