In Tarun Tahiliani

It was a handsome couple that posed for the photogs at the Reception. Love how well Mehr wears her lehenga; she looked great! It sure makes for a change to see Mehr go all out and no, you won’t hear us complain.

  1. She seems to wear bridal-esque dresses at these receptions for others……same thing happened at Shilpa Shetty’s reception………there is attending a function and there is trying to steal the thunder……especially a dress of this kind she should have aimed for another color…….tisk tisk…..

    • I agree totally! For someone who wears quite drab outfits and no makeup in her everyday life, funny how she likes to look like a bride at other peoples weddings! Whats that about?!

    • I disagree. I am happy that at least in India we have not fallen for the American trend of no wearing the same colors as the bride. It is not as if wearing red will confuse the people about who is the bride. It is fairly common for people to wear their own wedding clothes to other people’s weddings n India. I don’t understand why everybody else has to look blah in order for the bride to shine. Besides, Mehr is wearing a cream colored lehenga…not very over the top in my opinion. It is a different matter that Mehr can look gorgeous the moment she puts a tiny bit of effort in her makeup.

      • i think my point is like what ‘Ash’ is saying……i mean in her day to day life she isn’t the most style concious person and at people’s weddings and receptions she aims too much to looking like the attention getter that the bride and goom should get………..i agree that people should look good at weddings/receptions…(hated the jeans on some people at the event)…but if one is a guest, then he/she should just kick it up A notch…not several hundred notches, you know…..

      • I agree. I think its fine to wear red. In fact in southern india, a lot of people wear their own wedding sarees in other people’s weddings. It supposedly brings good luck to the bride’s marriage (or maybe thats a urban myth) but i like to believe it.

  2. Mehr looks just amazing! She should just endorse TTs and ditch her simplistic chappals-pony-and black nandita mahatanis and home kind of clothes.

  3. Still wish she had her hair tied up (since the lehenga is pretty extravagant, let it get the attention). And wish she avoided the half boob show.
Love the bindi. She should wear more indian stuff.

  4. this looks like a copy of #sabyasachi. how can senior designers like mr. tahiliani get down to this. sad!!! mehr looks lovely tho, she is THE original clotheshorse, the rest are all mere “gareebon ke mehr” 🙂

  5. In my dictionary “hot” means this 😉
btw in refrence to Hema’s comment above, i dont know how close they are but usually in our weddings its common for close relatives (bhabhi, chachi, mami types) to wear really heavy lehengas …even the newly weds wear their wedding outfits…but they never upstage the bride, as bride looks entirely different with her bridal makeup, varmala and all…
I agree the scenario is different here, but just my point…though even i agree Ms. Poonawala’s case could be different..

    • Thanks for replying to my comment….i don’t know if they are close like you mentioned with your family’s weddings….but it looked like when one looked at mehr, that she ended up looking like she was aiming to what you mentioned “upstage the bride” which is always a no-no from the way i look at it…..i don’t think if i was in genelia’s position (and if mehr wasn’t very close to me), i would be hunky dory with it, you know?…….hmmmmm maybe those that agree with me will agree and to those that disagree—we’ll have to agree to disagree….
