Masaba: LFW Summer/Resort 2011
Masaba’s strength lies in her ability to pair dramatic and strong contrasting colors together and making ’em work. She also has this knack for picking out a print that sticks. In this collection it was the ‘foot-impression’which she did use really well. We loved the use of polka dots and the animal print draped jumpsuit was one of our favorites pieces from the collection.
As fun and youthful as this collection was, and now that Masaba’s found her groove, we do think now she ought to perhaps pour in tad more thought into the finish of these products.

i really love that she used giant polka dots and the footprints in her collection, however these clothes don’t look very wearable. maybe she’s got more wearable stuff with the same print for the stores.
lovely collection…wish Rhea k had chosen something from this collection rather than what i just saw her wearing..shudders!!!!
Love the colors and the prints !!
loved Masaba’s last collection, esp the sarees, but am finding this a tad repetitive. black-and-white contrasted with bold oranges and hot pinks seems to be a lleitmotif…
its ugly as hell! its time to call it quits!
u do not go to show at a fashion week with such badly made clothes , it is not the first time she is showing at a fashion week
and she seems to be a popular designer , hope she will invest her time alittle more on the finishing of her clothes .
How do you know she does not put enough thought into the finishing of these outfits??? They look good to me. Were you there, in her show? Did you get closer and had a look at the fabric and stiching?
BTW, I would love to get my hands on one of Masaba’s jumpsuits and the giant polka dot maxi dress. So groovy .
Masaba has got real talent, I love her collection!
Oh so awesome!
Polka dots and delicate borders are not new. She did the hand prints earlier and here comes the footprints. But what i truly love is the fearless way she mixes bold colours to create something daring, fun, hip and so youthful !
Bad neighbourhood tailor finish. Should focus more on her workmanship than generating all this PR around herself .
Am I the only one who thinks this looks a bit like a college fashion show? Apart from the skirt on the third look – which I LOVE – none of the others are really doing anything for me.
And like you hinted, PnP, these clothes just do not have that polished factor. The linings/seams aren’t smooth, I see puckered hems, and there are definitely problems with volume.
However, I do see potential!
