Once Bitten, Twice Shy?
After getting into trouble for wearing a sari with the Indian flag, Mandira plays it safe by wearing just the colors this time.
A curious case of once bitten, twice shy, perhaps. 😉
You like the sari?

no blue chakra? aww…;)
I am so tired of traditional beads and shiny saris that I would so wear something like this
is this a Satya Paul Saree? I think that she’s looking really pretty in it..and she has fabulously toned arms that show off the halter blouse really well..
apsara77,
It might be… She wears them a lot.
I’d so wear this. She looks great.
First off are you sure this an independence day party and not a republic day one…? I hate to sound touchy… but I think its inexcusable if you’ve got the two mixed up.
Now slightly off topic.. I feel a left out when I see people of other nationalities wear the national flag to sporting events, celebrating our national day etc.. I wish I could wear mine too.. given this is probably the closest we’ll ever come to wearing our flag.. id probably wear it too.
Cluless,
You are right. It was a Republic day party but the theme was Independence which is why Mandira wore the flag colors.
oh, awesome halter top/blouse. Can we get these ready-made or do they always need to be tailored?
@pnp, thanks for clarifying.
Trust the socialites to not know the difference.. I suppose the mantra is.. so long as there’s a party who cares what we are celebrating. Pathetic.
Im liking this!!!
i dnt like the saree but i think that the clutch is too glittery and the whole outit is distracting!..
btw guys i am in dire need for some FASHION ADVICE:
can someone please suggest…i have a peachish pink dress and im planning to wear it with black stockings and shoes..can someone suggest what other colour should i incorporate in this outfit in terms of jewlery and belt….thnx guys!
I have mixed feelings, the print is very distracting and the colors are too loud. The bangles and earrings don’t match. But her hair looks better than before.
what an ugly sari…
disgrace for the national colors here..
if you going to use these colors..atleast make something worth wearing..
dont like the bangles.. makes the whole thing look tacky
i like it! and the saree is so wearable.. wish she had chosen better bangles!
I like this sari. It’s different, artistic, and stands out.
The clutch, bangles, and earrings should’ve not been there or been different from what she has. But good look as far as the theme goes!
i really like it! would def wear it
I don’t like it at all..
dont like the bangles, the purse or the earrings.. like the strokes on the saree tho
Like the saree, not the bangles . She looks lovely though
i like the whole effect..she looks gud in it
I am not sure if Mandira’s arms can be called toned. THey are slender, but not toned. TOned arms are obviously muscular, such as Michelle Obama’s or Madonna’s. You can see the “rippling” muscles. In Mandira’s case, I see none.
I thought normal firmness of muscle was being toned… as long as it was not wobbly and all flabby…. need not be all muscular….
Halter looks great on her but I think she does it way too often…
@ jaanetuyajaanena
It really depends on the dress itself: material, style, and the event as well
I would recomend ditching the stockings, but if you must
I need more details giiiirl 😀
and she does not have toned arms, at all, in anyway
they look wobbly and flabby to mee :/
i like it. i’d wear it. we’re just so used to seeing these colours on the flag alone that its hard to get used to ..
pdaervo, I did not say I thought ‘she’ had toned arms. I was merely expressing my understanding of toned in contradiction to Anastasia’s
@ pdaervo:
its actually a FCUK wizard dress…peachish pink in colour and i think ill have to go with the black stockings…so anything you can suggest in terms of accessories or if it needs a belt or something? any help would be appreciated!
jaanetuyajaanena,
Now that you mentioned the dress, you could wear the leggings and wear an oversized cardigan with booties and some chunky bangles to do an edgy look.
thnx a lot!
@jaanetuyajaanena
also, if you wear a cardigan, and if you’re not especially thin, I would also recomend a skinny belt
just my input ^^
@Bloo, no I sort of agree with you 🙂 but I do NOT think the defenition for toned arms should be Madonna – she’s insanely muscular- “toned” as I see it is right in the middle, with gentle definition
…otherwise, I’ll have to work even HARDER in the gym
I like the sari. I think it’s really sweet to wear the indian flag colors. A little bold but I like this style done in an abstract way. The white offsets the bold colors.
I like the Sari.
