Keeping It Simple
While at her mother’s house on occasion of Onam, Malaika was photographed in a simple block-printed cotton suit. Like what you see?

What’s wrong? Malika has been dressing sensibly more often.
That hair & no-jewellery does not translate into a festive look. Wish she had put a little effort.
She’s wearing a mask — that’s more effort than most these days. And this is for Onam. Even pre-pandemic, many of us malayalis did not dress up elaborately for the occasion.
Seconding V here. As a malayalee I agree that Onam festivities are less about your attire and more about the sadhya (feast) and pookalams ( flower carpet). I think her white kurta and zari duppata is a good choice for Onam.
We are talking about Malika here who does dress up for every small festive like a bride!!! Having said that her attire is very day-to-day Indian attire to be featured here. Nothing spl to make it to a fashion blog
@P: “ We are talking about Malaika here”
– Yup . All the more reason , in my opinion , to deconstruct and appreciate her attire when she tones it down and paradoxically elevates her look.
Hoping she sticks to her toned down Avatar for sometime 🙂
uff that dupatta is such an eye sore for a really simple suit
It looks very comfortable, but the suit itself looks poor quality. It looks like a screenprint fabric rather than blockprint, and the gold border is garish. Lots of brands offer suits in good cotton and genuine blockprint at competitive rates. Why pick something like this when one has the resources to choose better?
