It doesn’t sound ageist at all. For one, the commenter clearly alludes the applicability to herself and doesn’t target either of ladies.
Secondly forgetting pants is not a pretty sight. And two people in a row now! And if they didn’t forget, then this looks supremely ridiculous, (even if they have good shapely legs).
IMHO the “ageist” adjective is over sensItivised. If wearing clothes from a teen section doesn’t look good on someone that’s a good few decades past, why is it such a big deal to call it that.
Speechless and not in a good way! Grown women without pants is just not a pleasant sight (before the feminists here start with the bashing – ditto for men without pants). And what’s that on Shilpa’s foot? socks with buckles? God, what all these ladies do in the name of fashion!!
I abhor these shirt dresses, at least if they reached your thigh halfway down it would have looked much better..anyways I m not complaining about Shilpa’s legs, they look great!
I always thought that fashion was about feeling good about yourself and in a little way it’s a form of self expression, sometimes it says a lot about your state of mind. It’s not about how young you are to ‘rock’ a certain look, damn you could have a sexy bod at 20 but you could still wear sweatshirts and jeans and feel that it’s an appropriate look for you. For instance, on Diwali this year, while my sister dressed to the nines, I was in my pjs. We were both comfortable and happy.
If you go to the early pages of this blog, there is a lot of criticism for the late Parmeshwar Godrej’s sartorial choices. But damn, I loved her in those berets . She was a 70 something woman who was just being herself. Sharmila Tagore wears a string of diamonds, chiffon sarees and Pashminas to public events and she looks like a classic beauty.. she radiates happiness. I think why I am trying to say is – to each her own.
Mallika’s is not photographed well. Shilpa looks good. The response to your question is sure, if I had the bod to carry it off. But sadly, I don’t but these ladies are a good inspiration.
Both ladies are very fit and have killer bods, but the outfit just looks like something out of a nightmare. The sort where you dream you went out in public without pants.
To answer your question, not a look I’d wear. Don’t have the guts. Not to mention, the legs or attitude. 🙂
You guys, what’s there to cover in these outfits? Would rather have seen all of Gauahar Khan’s wedding clothes on these pages, than post after post of these basics. Honestly, feel a little sad at the limited coverage of her wedding compared to other celeb weddings. I feel you guys hold back on certain celebs and highlight others, even if there’s nothing worth talking about fashion wise – like this.
Ms Shetty looks like a teenager… her face, the suppleness of her skin, amazing how youthful she looks. Yoga has really amazing powers. The bigger question is, given a choice to dress Uber youthful or moderately elegant….which one would I choose ? If I were I her boat, I would invest in highest quality fabric. Unattainably exquisite weaves. And wear them casually 🙂
Fashion victims ! ugh.
Both of them look as if their apartments were on fire and they just grabbed their tops and ran. Behanon, where did you lose your pants/shorts/skirt/tights/leggings ?
It is not and not to sound ageist, but definitely not in my 40’s for sure
That is definitely an ageist comment.
I agree. Ageist comment.
P&P- please discourage such comments by censoring them
So age appropriate dressing should be discouraged? Just asking.

This is funny for any age. No just 40s or 20s. Looks very incomplete

Just because a long tee / sweatshirt is the same length as a short dress it doesn’t mean it is in fact a short dress.
Just for photo ops and just to be “popular” 🙂
Don’t have the weather or the body and frankly don’t have the confidence.
I want to like both.. but the sweatshirt dress is at fault, looks more like a sweatshirt with missing pants.

Wow! They don’t look a day over 30..?
They look good!
Of course there is something called ‘age appropriateness’. If there wasn’t, our bodies and minds and behavior wouldn’t change throughout our lives…

i am going to judge the legs instead!! 🙂
Not liking the dress, shoes and bags in both the looks. Buy mahn! What legs!
