In Rahul Mishra Couture

At the unveiling of the India In Fashion exhibit and gala at NMACC, Malaika was seen in a Rahul Mishra jumpsuit from his Couture collection. The cape seems like an addition after seeing the runway version (See inside) and I don’t mind it. What I do mind is that necklace and that the stitching ran across the middle. I know this event is going to make everyone go the maximalist route but I didn’t think the necklace went with the jumpsuit. Other than that, she looked good.

  1. Rahul Mishra designs are quite unique. I loved what Alanna Pandey wore for one of her ceremonies – the 3D Lehenga even though it had a bralette blouse. Gigi looked great too. If Malaika had not added a cape(that seems to be the new trend after cutout dresses) and overdone it with jewelry, this would look great. The model looks way better even the black stitch in the middle is not so visible- because the model is wearing black undergarments unlike Ms Arora who was trying to be risqué with flesh colored ones.

  2. This creation is goo don the runway or a magazine cover! It is not practical at all to wear at a social gathering! Totally agree with the black line running the ensemble. The cape was probably added to avoid it being too bare for the body from the back. I wish she had chosen something else!

  3. This being a event where the hosts are mostly elegantly dressed with more traditional than modern outfits it seems strange that celebrities like her and priyanka choose to flaunt fashion choices that are so in your face. There are other events they can use to display their wares but at this event !

  4. This is what happens when one wants to showcase India’s fashion and culture and invites Bollywood to represent that !!!
If I was not Indian, I would think Indian fashion is just garish and ridiculous.
