In Manish Malhotra

These days where everyone sports gowns, I do love seeing a sari on the red carpet. But, there are also times when I wish, the person hadn’t. This was one of those rare occasions.

It hurts to say that even more considering Madhuri’s makeup was so on point her. But, that sari! Never liked the skirt version on Alia. Dislike this too.

Were you liking Ms. Dixit here?

  1. What an eyesore of a saree!!! The color is awful, the embroidery on the blouse in tacky and what is that cobwebby thing hanging from both sides ??!!

  2. Is there a revival of the shiny Garden Vareli saris that my mom used to wear?
She needs a better fitted undergarment for her choli. Cant believe she stepped out on the red carpet in that choli.

  3. I love the colour but I have a natural leaning towards bronze and dull gold .
However the rest of it ..the slinky material, the pom poms (Good Lord) and the tacky embellishment totally killed the rest of it.

  4. As soon as MM tries to get creative we get some really random stuff. I wish he would stick to his core strength: embellished and colourful sarees.

  5. I think Madhuri would fare better with blouses that have some definition at the shoulders. Either subtle shoulder pads or raised pleats that would define her shoulders a bit more. That plus some good foundation garments can one avoid the saggy look.

  6. You gotta admire her self-confidence. She wore this outfit, looked in the mirror, saw shiny fabric and pompoms and decided she was good to face the world.
