In Bibhu Mohapatra

Madhuri will be serving as one of the judges on the Indian version of So You Think You Can Dance. She attended the press meet for the TV show wearing a black Bibhu Mohapatra flared dress. With the top half being plain, adding the chunky VelvetCase necklace made perfect sense.

She looked amazing. One of her better looks in recent times.

(Will you guys throw brickbats at me if I mentioned, I really did want a ponytail. 😛 Because I did right away, at first glance. )

  1. Since when have you been scared of the brickbats? I hate it when people start shooting other people down for simply stating an opinion (which I think is happening a lot lately on this blog. “You’re biased towards Sonam/Why are you featuring Paki stars”). You say what you want, girl. Grow a thick skin (not saying you don’t already have one) and speak your mind without fear of these silly “brickbats” 🙂

  2. I think this is her best look in last one year or so. Perfect 10/10.

P.S. I would want ponytail too, but open hair did no damage to the look. She rocked the look. Looking so young.

  3. Wowza! I did a double take for a second! She looks great, specially that third pic, can easily give other actresses half her age a run for their money!

  4. She looks lovely. I was hoping she would do more movies rather than become a permanent judge on the reality circuit, but if it means getting to see her like this more often, I’ll take it.

  5. Tanya, PLEASEEEEEE keep dressing her like this.. she looks AMAZING! Just like how Vidya found Sabya during her bad times, Bibhu might do the same for Madhuri..

  6. the dress is an ace choice. it does the fit-and-flare thing without looking teensy. the colour is good, the cut is good, the accessorizing is spot-on and even the shoulders don’t look droopy!

  7. She looks amazing no doubts on that! But her face looks like its made up of wax. Believe its a result of too much matte makeup and contouring.

  8. First thing I did was to scroll down and check if it was the very hardworking Tanya Ghavri. Of course it is. Kajol and Madhuri should attach themselves to her with industrial strength duct tape. No one else seems to wring some style onto them.

  9. OK, it’s official!! Tanya Ghavri is a veritable magician!!! She has made Katrina look interesting and interested. And now she has made Madhuri look like she is finally out of the 80s!!! The look is so chic it hurts and Madhuri looks impeccable and classy – and finally a western silhouette that suits her body type to perfection. I won’t throw any brickbats but her hair is looking so healthy and shiny that I am not missing a ponytail, it is great as-is!!!

  10. Wow. And just a few days ago at the Prince William shindig she looked so awful. This is what she needs to stick with. GO MADHURI!!! <3

  11. I loved the hair. Yes, perhaps, a pony tail may be more on point. But this is one of her better styled hair as well. She looks so good!

  12. Gosh is she really 50 and mother of two??
However hope she has updated her knowledge of dance a lot more than that was present in jdj. Professional dancers would be competing here.

  13. Wha! my jaw just dropped I scrolled down and I had to look a few times to believe that was Madhuri!! I am biased towards Madhuri anyways, but this look does full justice to the very pretty woman she is… I wouldn’t have expected her to wear a Bibhu Mohapatra, but that dress really suits her alongwith the hairstyle, looks wayyy younger.

  14. She is killing it… wow she looks great. A change is hair can do wonders for your style. And I agree, a pony tail would have taken this look to perfect.

  15. Seriously, you moderate comments and allowed the word “paki” to get posted. Please realise that people of all backgrounds follow your blog so allowing racist, demeaning terms like this is not beneficial and reflects poorly on yourselves.

    • Hi Maz, I went back and looked at the comments. Nowhere did I find someone being referred to as Paki. The mentions were regarding the dramas or the clothes. The reader probably used it just as a short version instead of typing out everything.

If you saw one that did refer to the person, do let me know. My eyes are getting old and I do sometimes miss things.

    • I also don’t like the use of the word Paki but people outside the UK don’t realise it’s a racist word and they use it as a short form of Pakistan.

  16. Its all good to say you wanted a ponytail. But I would like to know your logic as well. That would make for informed and informative critique.
