Dressed Down, Dressed Up
Lakshmi and Queenie were both in Stella McCartney at the Vogue Beauty awards but when it came to their looks, it was poles apart. Lakshmi went with a dressed down look in a McCartney jumpsuit paired with orange kolhapuris, a look that I loved!
Queenie went for a dressed up look in a blue Stella McCartney gown. I want to like the look, but the black belt and the side-swept curled hair made this look much too pageanty.

Lakshmi’s dress could have used a belt.
NOOOOOOOOO Ways. its really chic. ME LIKES
the Stella McCartney jumpsuit look bettor on the rnway model than Lakshmi
da belt omg hideous..eww
ok i totally HEART Lakshmi Menon’s look! how refreshing!
love the jump suit and orange K or lakshmi, the less said about queenie the better, the worst thing about her look is the dolly parton hair and make up
Queenie, you are making LSR look bad!
what is LSR?
Lady Shri Ram College, thats where she went.
Maybe she feels if Shriya Saran can do it, so can i 😉
Oh yaaa I know..that college for super-intelligent crazy people! 😛 hahaha, my cousin went there too 🙂
Yep, Lakshmi looks fantastic.
Queenie on the other hand looks so bad that I almost feel sorry for her. The makeup, the hair, the cleavage – absolutely atrocious. And I’ve said this before, have we ever seen her in anything non-bling-sequin-jing? Really, woman.
Hands down one of the worst-dressed women ever.
i love, love lakshmi’s look …. i wish i had the height to carry off this jumpsuit ….. i never like jumpsuits, but this one i have fallen in love with
errrr…… the other look reminds me of the bar dancer in the early 90s movie
I like Lakshmi’s look, laidback yet chic.
Omg..the ghastly make up on queenie…has she ever heard less is more…
I love the concept of Lakshmi’s look- white jumpsuit, pretty cool orange kolhapuris. I just don’t like how it fits her, it kind of sits like a bag ruining the whole look.
Queenie looks like she’s going to break into an Abba song any moment now..
Laxmi vs. Queenie = totally predictable outcome :/
Totally! 😀
wow wow..how stunning does laksmi look..but then again she can look like a goddess in almost anything…with that height n near-perfect bone structure…
The only problem is her hair!! and ofcourse make-up….
OMG queenie!! get a life, grow up,age gracefully….if all else fails, hire a stylist!!!
I dont find Lakshmi attractive at all. I dont care if she is a top model. She is so over rated.
I agree! Lakshmi looks pretty average to me.
Queenie comparatively is pretty even at 40+. It is just that her make up is always so over the top. She has this clown make up on always and it looks terrible. She really needs to dress her age.
In pic above if she toned down her makeup 70% and used a more elegant hairdo she would still be able to pull it off.
Agreed, i don’t find her attractive either.
Maybe by “Indian Standards” (*sarcastic voice*) fair, round face, fair, average height, fair, light eyes, fair, full-figured, Menon is “average” or “overrated”.
but by international standards – tall, lean, chiseled, high cheekbones, Lakshmi is way ahead most of them 😛
You ROCK lakshmi!!!
Exaclty, and don’t you love that the “‘Indian standard” doesn’t sound Indian at all?
i dont think you need to be pretty to be a model – great bone structure, killer attitude infront of the camera works.
Bleh, guys…
I don’t think this even worth responding to, but I’m going to anyway.
Lakshmi has a totally unique face with a fantastic bone structure; a regal, different and very strong kind of beauty.
Despite the problem with body image, I love the models of today because they’re so strangely beautiful; it’s a good environment for the “embrace what you have” movement.
This isn’t even supposed to be about beauty, this is about fashion/style x.
pat on the back for pdaevro, for telling it like it is! Lakshmi is beautiful (thank god the naysayers here are actually a minority); re: Queenie, since i can’t say anything complimentary, i’d rather not say anything at all.
like Queenie ever looks dressed down. She probably was dressed for a theme party here. All she needs is a disco mirror ball.
i prefer Lakshmi
Loving Lakshmi’s look.
Anyone please tell me who is Queenie who gets mentioned on this blog ?
One is way too much casual and one is way too much OTT..
Not liking either but Lakshmi fares better..
The girl in white looks baggy and the girl in the blue dress looks tacky. The end!
Resort wear should be worn like resort wear – without too much add-on bling – otherwise the look just comes out weird – which is why Lakshmi fares better than Queenie who’s always maxed out in every aspect – hair, makeup, belt, shoes, jewelry, I applaud her for having the energy to dress up all the time.
Lakshmi’s too under-dressed. It is an awards function, at the end of the day. You don’t walk in like you were lounging around.
And Queenie’s look may have worked if she’d toned down the make-up. But I don’t think she knows what “toned-down” means. So I’ll let her be.
Queenie looks right out of a rishi kapoor movie, where he is singing a song with guitar on stage and people like her are dancing all around
Shows how even the rich and famous, despite all that money, manage to look ugly and gauche.
Queenie looks like an item girl from a Feroz Khan movie in the 80s.
Whats with Queenie’s face- looks scary and did she do her makeup in the dark???
As for her obsession with putting a belt on everything she wears- give the security blanket a rest!
Queenie’s is about to break into some disco moves from the 80’s – saare jawaan aahaa naache naache!! saare haseen aahaa naache naache!!
i think queenie needs to call it a day. her face looks like an artist’s unwashed palette
