In Manish Malhotra
Kriti attended the Ambani Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations wearing a white sari with badla work all over. Now, if this was a Diwali party that she was attending I’d have instantly loved, but the traditionalist me, finds this combo very inappropriate for a festive event.
Just me feeling that way?

oh i don’t know. an ambani bash is much more about the sho-sha than it is about any deep piety. this works for me, she looks nice.
She looks pretty but this is not appropriate for a Ganesh Chathurti but then since when did Bollywood ever care about event appropriateness
Well its the Ambani’s beanfeast…everything has to be over the top darlings.
Don’t we do Lakshmi Pooja for Diwali? What’s the difference since both are festive events. We got so used to seeing this looks for Diwali that now they are the norm
Exactly my thoughts Sasha. This is not festive appropriate. Any festive for that matter.
Whatever the party, the look is so run of the Manish and Bollywood! Sorry I am not dazzled by it despite all the heavy bling!
There are plenty of outfits to show off ones figure: the saree shouldn’t have to be one.
This is flimsy and the drape makes it look even worse. This isnt the way to wear a saree at a pious festival.
I don’t get it. What’s so inappropriate about this outfit? She’s completely covered, there’s no excessive cleavage show, her saree pallu is covering her completely. I think she looks fine.
Tons of women — old ones, working ones, ghunghat waalis — drape their sarees so that both breasts are not always covered. A very specific age demographic gets chastised for a “one-boob drape” and that’s a problem. Even if it is deliberate, the saree is every one’s garment and people get to do what they want with it. If a “one-boob drape” works on a lehanga/sharara/Salwar, it gets to work on a saree as well.
The bigger problem here is MM. He can make the statuesque KS look comical.
No pics of the blouse , esp the back of the blouse? That screams of event appropriateness
Did i miss the new year party invite? why is everyone in so much blingy attire for a traditional pooja?
