It’s no secret that celebrity weddings have become huge these days. But, Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey managed to keep the reins in their hands and media couldn’t crash this party that happened on September 3rd when the couple got married in an intimate ceremony. Ranvir looked handsome in a white sherwani while Konkona looked oh-so-beautiful in a cream silk sari and her grandmother’s jewellery.

We wish the couple the very best!

  1. She manages to look both lovely and very much like herself; no overdone bridal makeup or overwhelming clothes. Congratulations to the couple.

  2. Beautiful seems like such a lesser word for describing Konkona.
Perfect everything. Grandmother’s jewellery is so beautiful. She seems to have come from another era. So classic. Oh so right!

Ranvir looks dapper. They make such a nice pair. Congratulations to the couple!

    • Come from another era says it – so timeless and classic. Was just watching her on Page 3 which is on tv right now and thinking the same thing.

  5. In real life, she seems to be a lot similar to the person that she plays in all her movies. Down to earth and sane. She is so beautiful and I love the way she looked on her wedding day. Difficult to believe that these two people are a part of the madness that is Bollywood!

  6. mashallah. if i ever get married, this is what i’d want to look like. a classic look that will age well. none of that manish malhotra velvet trash lehengas we just saw on the runway recently. or the sabyasachi sofa fabric lehengas that everybody loves so much.

  8. She looks gorgeous. Very classic and timeless. And kudos for keeping it a low key simple ceremony.
Its my dream look for my wedding (i wld probably get the feel of “bhag ke shaadhi karna” if i dont go all bridal in red and a bit more make up and effort on the hair do).
But she looks perfect. Love the idea of wearing mother’s saree or grandmother jewelry and such.

  9. Payal,it says ‘Ranbir looks handsome’ in the post…..the Ranbir mania is hard to miss,I know πŸ˜‰

Loved Koko, both on screen and off too.She looks so lovely and happy, which is all that matters when you are marrying. It’s a good idea to stay true to your own tradition rather than adopt the latest trend,b’coz you don’t want to feel embarrassed while looking at your wedding pics with your grandchildren.

Classic and timeless.God bless the newly weds.

  10. Hey guys, “reigns” isn’t the right word here…it’s “reins” obviously.
Sorry, but misuse of vocabulary is such a pet peeve of mine!
