Getting It Right This Time

And this time around, she fixed her ‘pallu’ that often doubled as her long trailing train!

  1. she shud wear her hair back like she did last time or cut it to shoulder length- the heavy jewelry, the heavy saris and her OTT makeup AND THE long flowy hair are a bit much .

  2. I think her hair and style (saris and jewelry and all..) are perfect for her age and style and the kind of image she has. If she does anything like shorten the hair or even light curls, it wouldn’t suit her mature face. I know variety is the spice of life (however cliched that sounds!) and some women just NEED that experimentation but with Kirron, I can’t imagine anything else working out as well. Just my two cents.

  3. Hmmm….I am not digging the first picture too much. Maybe because she looks like a retired classical dancer (dancers always seem to have the trademark “dancer-looks” even well past their prime even when they are no longer performing). Maybe its the combination of the nose-stud, jhumkas etc etc thats giving me that impression. She somehow looks better in the second pic.

  4. I just think she should cut back a tad – maybe wear her hair back in a bun when she’s wearing jhumka style earrings – wear one necklace instead of 2. I love her saris.. she’s not that bad yet but teetering dangerously close..

  5. I think she could’ve cut back on the necklaces. I don’t know. I feel like she’s treading the fine line between interesting and overkill.
Still, you don’t see too many ladies of her age with a distinct pov fashion-wise, so I’ll give her that one.

  6. whats with the dancer eyebrows?!? i think the stuff she is wearing is not real and it shows.. its got a so fake gold shine… which doesnt go with the saree

  7. Now, this look is trademarked by Rekha: open, flowing hair, heavy saris, gold jewelry and the open pallu. And she does do it the best. The flowing hair doesn’t suit Kirron because of her structure, I think. Maybe it would help to bundle her hair up in a bun or something to keep it off her face. But other than that, I love this traditional thing.

  8. i think she looks really great in the traditional look! i would prefer if she cuts her hair a couple inches though – still long, but just not AS long. she does the traditional saree look extremely well though!

  9. the sari is lovely but something’s not right. it might be too much make up and the jewellery is overkill. however she does carry herself with poise and dignity and i like her for that.

  10. she is an actress of a certain age, now to be immortalized like Nirupa Roy as SRK’s mom in more than one film…good actress, lovely traditional sarees, OTT, jewellery, but Rekha did it better…

  11. I am beginning to have doubts about KK being elegant and all..Sure, her taste in sarees is unmatched. But her makeup, jewellery and hairdo is often over the top. And modest though she might thankfully be, the over the top get up ruins her style. She needs to tone down the accessories and make up and maybe, try a shorter saree or add more pleats to get rid of the trailing pallu…It gives her a messy look.
