In Punit Balana
Kiara flew back to Mumbai after the shoot wrap of her upcoming movie and was seen doing desi in Punit Balana while travelling complete with jhumkis and jootis.
She looked sweet.

It’s interesting how you never use the word ‘sweet’ to describe western wear. Somehow the notions of virtuosity and niceness and sweetness are only linked to Indian clothing (those of us living in India rarely use ‘desi’ or for that matter, ‘videshi’).
The wannabe-desipan is becoming a trend
I couldn’t agree more! The only two people I noticed who were actually dressing in desi clothes casually (not linked to movie promotions) were Kangana and Sara Ali Khan, before it became a “lets-be-more-relatable-desi-trend.” I think if you glance at a lot of these celeb personal social media pages and scroll down, you’d notice they’re always dressed in western wear barring OTT event looks. There’s nothing wrong with dressing in Western or Indian wear, but its hard not to notice it being used at a “stereotypical-simple-girl” clickbait.
So Punit Balana + Jhumkis + Jootis = New airport look. A new template is created.
Why wannabe? It’s a normal attire and comfy for travel..even in her upcoming movie she is dressed in kurtis. When kangana wears saris for air travel she is praised ..but other celebs wearing suits are called out for trying to go desi. Why this bias?
the suit in itself lacks novelty – nothing designer about it. the embroidery around chest doesn’t seem like handwork
This wearing kurta suits by these Bolly ladies is so wannabe and trying hard. This kind of looks like they are insulting normal Indian girls.
