The India International Jewellery Week got off to a start with big names walking the runway. Katrina Kaif walked for Nakshatra diamonds in a lehenga by Neeta Lulla and Deepika Padukone for Farah Khan Ali in Seema & Jamila Malhotra.
Between the two, there was a clear winner for me and it was Deepika who looked absolutely ravishing in the beige Seema & Jamila Malhotra sari. The outfit was beautiful without being overwhelming and it did not take any attention away from Farah’s design. That was so the case for Katrina, though. Between the lace lehenga and the gloves, I can’t even pay attention to the diamond necklace that SHOULD be the center of attention.
P.S: The models in Farah’s show were dressed in Ana Singh but, Farah and Deepika were in Seema & Jamila Malhotra outfits. Their looks were styled by Ana though.

Katrina – so many things gone wrong. Horrible blouse, weird peach tan and atrocious make-up to name a few. How did they make a fresh-faced Katrina look so jaded?
Exactly. Katrina can look oh-so-guuuuud ! But I dont know how they made her look pale and haggard in comparison.
I guess the jewelry was popping out on deepika and lost in katrina. They could have chosen better colours.
That peach lehenga has a good mermaid like shape on katrina, but i guess it would have looked awesome on someone with a darker skin tone.
Deepika looks amazing. Kat’s makeup is making it looks worse. Though the lengha is pretty there too. But ur right, it doesn’t draw attention to the jewelry
oh and i think those are sleeves on Kat right? lol

Knowing this is a fashion blog only, I still cannot resist saying that something about Katrina’s face does not look right. Too tired? Suddenly aged too much? It could be the makeup or whatever, but she does not look good in my opinion. The color of the outfit is washing everything out.
Deepu on the other hand looks stunning. Stunning face and a body to match – she sports the jewelry so well.

Deepika looks amazing. Her saree is beautiful and ensures her jewellery stands out which is also beautiful. Her hair and make up give her the traditional look which is stunning.
I like Katrina’s lehenga/skirt. Its a nice colour and shape. The blouse us horrid as is the jewellery. She just looks blinged up for the sake of it. Her hair looks like it was done in a rush and then she got caught in the rain and her make up makes her look haggard and tired. Also is it me or does Katrina’s face look very puffed up, especially her lips (in the first pic). Also wearing her hair down makes the whole look too casual… the look is not complete!
Oh my! Both ladies look stunning…they look like they just descended from heaven to appease us civilians…who cares about styling when they look this heavenly!
I know I’m gushing…but with those faces and bodies and height…..heavenly is the word!
I may be the minority here but they both look horrible facewise! Katrina looks quite uncomfortable and uninterested and her make-up is off. Deepika has an overdose of make-up! The dark eye make up is not going well. I like what she is wearing though. It’s gorgeous!

katrina is looking sad..as if she is forcing the smile..Deepika looks like an ethereal beauty and got lucky as she got much better looking dress and jewelry..so not really a fair comparison..!! and I always thought that Deepika has one of the most toned bodies in bollywood..but Kat’s torso and waist look so much more sculpted that hers..thats a wow..!!

I don’t really care if the jewellery is getting any attention, but to me Katrina looks better (btw I am one of those swooning over deeps all the time even when she wears distressed denims!) The photo of Katrina sure isn’t capturing her best moment, she ends up looking uncomfortable or even tired like someone else mentioned. But she looks simple – yet extravagant. Beautiful curves, I must add. Deepika on the other hand just looks strange and very overwhelming. I don’t think her straight/athletic body type goes well with ethnic wear.

Ya u r right. Kat has beautiful curves compared to skinny/athletic (dont know whats the cause) of deepika’s masculine waist. I felt that when she wore the rohit bal sari for cannes. And also in a song in billu.
I dont know why she loves these bra-blouses.i.e blouses as short as a bra that you cannot possibly find a bra that smaller than that.
I agree, Katrina has amazing curves, while Deepika seems to have no waist at all! Just straight up and down. whilst that might be great for western clothes its not so fab with sarees/lehngas ect.

Hah! How’d you like it if you were a diamond necklace and had to compete with a bunch of plastic/glass beads?! As for the Deepika, it’s true her figure looks odd…in the 2nd pic. I don’t care much for the long necklace. Maybe red wasn’t right here. Or maybe the sari should be more colorful, to strike a balance.
yah…..to me,deepika’s (or farah’s) jwellery seemed quite cheap looking….but again,Kat’s ones aren’t that interesting either

Firts off, Deepika’s jewellery itself is far better, katrina’s neckpiece is ugly.. I saw their interveiew on TV and thats the first thought I had.. secondly, Deepika’s face is overdone, katrina’s is off but I love the peach colour
Katrina looks bad…now we know that it is possible 😉 Nothing in her appearance is worth writing home about! Deepika’s devdasi cum upsara looks is interesting. I am lusting her long rani-haar (or whatever it is called) and teeka. If I must compare then Deepika looks way better than Katrina.

kat looks bored, tired and old. the make up is horrid, they didnt even bother with combing her hair and her lips look swollen.

exactly what i was thinking… Deepika’s blouse is a tad too short.. n she is wearing the lehnga too low.. something like that would look good on someone who’s got curves.. but in this case, deepika looks soo athletic… its just odd luking…! Katrina looks like she is having a bad day.. like she is about to cry… n yeah her neck piece is not very interesting.. so its a N’ah to both the ladies from me..
You notice the hair pulled back and piled up on Deepika is much more suited to a jewellery show? We can atleast see what’s intended to be displayed. Sure Deepika looks good all in all , but the only grouse I have is that the sari is draped low at the hips and that along with the tiny blouse is just cutting her body in Half (a la a certain Mr. Gunn?). Makes her look stumpy (relatively speaking) in the full length pic. Now that’s a pickle if I ever saw one…it should never be said for a tall lass such as Deepika.
deepika is looking gorgeous and the jewellery is not lost in her case but i dont like the jewellery , her waist is weird…i dont like Katrina here her makeup is so dull so the color of the dress,nothing is working but i love her curves!!
Is it me, or is jadau work getting overexposed? Gone is the uniqueness, every one seems to be jadauing…chunky designs, OTT pieces, and the ultimate blow that seems to kill it for me…predictability..
