Katrina on Filmfare: (Un)Covered
Katrina Kaif graces the cover of Filmfare this month in a Peacock Couture gown from the Spring 2009 collection.
I love Falguni and Shane Peacock’s OTT gowns because they always make for great editorial pieces although in real may come off looking a little whimsical. Having said that, I am surprised at how white the gown looks on the cover. (Maybe they recreated another version in white but that is rare for a couture piece.)

I am trying hard to be nice – the gown on the model has its charms – however they have managed to make Katrina look blander than usual.Poor cover.
aww, Katrina makes a fun dress look borrrrring!!
@rubywoo – lol
That cover picture is just boring. The dress looks like a hot mess.
They again went crazy with the photoshoping….
They photoshopped the gown to make it look white!
Oh wait! I just discovered a bunch of speckled eggs.
This should have been shot from top with her laying on the skirt part of the dress, would have been more interesting. What is the background that they have? Old sheets? Too much photoshopping too.
@rubywoo – lol
Well I actualy like the gown.. specialy on the model… the color is beautiful
she is so bla the cover is even blaer than bla
she literally looks bored
…
the dress totally blends into the background :/
boring
drab
messy
makes me looks away from the cover, forget picking up the issue :S
i never really liked her. she’s just.. boring!! lol sorry but this photoshoot proves it too
oh and i totally agree with DN abt the angle of the shot. that would’ve made a huge diff!
contact lenses :(((((
COLOURED lenses :(((((((((((
I am digging the gown on the ramp. but i agree, the photo wasn’t taken right to really exhibit the dress in the right way. OTT photoshopping is another story. and i personally don’t like the legs-spread posture- kinda cheap and further downplays a beautiful couture piece. In contrast, I thought Kareena’s vogue pics from way back when where she wore a Dolce gown was awesome!
I have begun to associate Falguni and Shane *Peacock’s* gowns with having lots of feathers. Guess they need to stick true to their last name (?).
I wish they did a diff pose, somehow wearing such an elegant and whimsical dress doesn’t deserve an open leg shot.
This is by far the worst cover we have seen, there’s no ingenenuity or novelty present. I have no issues with Katrina being the one photographed, the person behind the lens needed to be slightly more creative, his subject along w/ the creation by Shane and Peacock deserved way better!
umm.. actually i dont get this gown.. its so so so OTT.. and to add to it they put a big rose on the shoulder.. as if the mess wasnt enough..
looks so messy.
the dress is adorable
though not very wearable
doesnt show as well in the picture…and def doenst like the same colour
doesnt look like the same colour*
i just don’t get this… i have never shot a photograph in my life but i assume that one of the rules would be – “never make the model wear the same colour clothes as the background” … i have seen this happen in so many magazine covers, the model just blends into the background ….
dont like the gown tat much bt love the colour and kat me no like..in this one..its looks like her head, hand and legs cutted out from the background,,so messed up
i like the outfit
as said above, its a good editorial outfit rather a red carpet or party wear
yes they recreated
see the length and color difference
kath looks kewl
The dress looks great on Joey on the ramp, very photo ready…but seems to have fallen flat in the photo, does not help that Kat is sitting and the background is the same colour, so it looks like an unmade bed
Looks good on the model and not on Kat
Theres so much going on in that dress…yet its so meh..
