As lovely as Ms. Kaif looks, I absolutely hate the pairing of that blouse with the sari. It’s neither eclectic/kitschy, nor is it a well thought out contrast… all it is, is a contrast for the sake of contrast. Argh. Complete downer.

Sari itself is nice and can’t fault Katrina neck up but that blouse gets my goat.

P.S: She is in Vikram Phadnis. You can catch pictures and review of Phadnis’ collection Here.

      • So true…how can you not fault her from the neck up? What is going on with her hair? It looks like the stylist started to curl it but then changed his/her mind.
Also the front only curls kinda emphasize the square-ness of her jaw so maybe that’s where you’re getting the “masculine” look from?

    • I disagree. This outfit is pretty bad, but I feel that out of all the actresses, Katrina wears saris the best. And in my opinion, she looks more like her father than her mother. If I didn’t know her ethnic background, and I saw her down the street, I would assume she was of South Asian origin.

  1. Wow for once Katrina drapes the sari properly and still it’s a hot mess. Don’t like the sari. Don’t like the blouse. And quite honestly here I don’t like what’s neck up either. The hair and/or the make up is simply off.

  2. She looks like a character right out of the movie devdas. I know when people take inspiration, i find this look to be quite literal. No doubt she looks beautiful but fails on the style rating

  3. WoW! Beautiful Saree and Ugly blouse – perfect example!! It would have looked so hot if the blouse was black!!!!

She looks really pretty neck up tho!

  4. I would have liked the whole outfit if it werent for her jewelry. Her saree and blouse wouldnt bother me so much if she hadnt worn the jewelry!

  5. I am fine with the pairing, in fact I do like the blouse. Great body. But the whole look has aged her considerably. Does anybody else get reminded of Padma Lakshmi seeing the third picture?

  6. agree with you Priyanka, but how did u miss the hair??? I am all for changing it up, but Katrina’s hair looks awful….she should stick to wearing it straight..

  7. I agree with you about the blouse, it is neither here nor there. The color of the sari I like. But the hair!! she looks much better with straight hair.

  8. Saree is nothing special..seen better. Blouse is looking not too bad..Its not the best combo but it looks nice nonetheless. All in all the whole attire is ‘ok’ but what makes it special is that I’ve never seen Kat dressed like a bharatiya nari before with the red bindi and all. She looks beautiful.

  9. i seem to be disagreeing with you girls a lot lately.
love the comb of the sari and the blouse. the very fact that the contrast is so very different that makes it so interesting. as much as i am indifferent to ms. kaif, i must say she looks divine.

  10. Katrina belongs to that category of females who can’t carry bindi(eg karisma, twinkle,Priyanka etc).Reason is bcoz they have look which can carry western clothes easily. She surely looks stunning in saris but bindi look is big no.
Well the saree is very heavy workwise… This being jewellery endorsement I feel it very inappropriate as the diamond set is nowhere in picture…
The blouse wid blue border in sleeves is just not working…

She looks about a minute away from the romp around the fire.
    Much to much!
    Not good at all

  13. Naah.. neither the blouse nor the saree.. Red suits her but this saree / blouse is not doing anything for her.. dont even like the hair…

  14. OMG, somehow this look seems to age her so much.
really like the sari but she can’t pull it off, not that she looks bad but like i said it’s too old for her. that and the hair plus the bindi is totally off.

and i agree with whoever said she always looks like the white woman playing dress up lol.
as much as i love her (believe me you i have a girl crush on her teehee), i really wish her stylist had a little more style? lol

  15. except the blouse ofcourse…! Without reading the text, I thought she was in character for the movie where she plays a politician.

  16. I normally like Katrina, but her pinned up pallus are beginning to be boring..she should relax a bit and be more natural …and definately not pin up chiffon sarees

  17. Unlike most of the comments above, i love the blouse more than the saree. The saree is just too overpowering with its shade of red and the way to contrasting and overworked black borders.

I think a plain blue-grey chiffon saree with that blouse would have done classic and elegant and a black bindi to keep the look similar

  18. you guys are way too partial to Katrina. she looks really average. i agree with comment no.1:- she looks like a white woman playing dress up!! she looks way better in a dress/tweensy outfits she usually wears

  19. are you being polite to her beacuse she knows your blog exists? and has mentioned it a couple of times in her interviews?
Because from what I can see she looks HORRENDOUS. have you not seen that bindi?

  20. it’s sort of funny beacause the only thing that I like about this whole attire is the blouse. but yes the whole look is very ugly with that awful saree and bad hair. I have a blouse almost like this one and it looks awesome with my Sapphire blue saree with very light borcade border.

  21. I dont mind the saree and the blouse, but wish she had gone lighter on make-up and without jewellery and that bindi…honestly its not her thing!

  22. So deos this mean long sleeve blouses are back in fashion? I could totally steal some of my mum’s blouses if that is the case hahaha!

  23. actually the brocade in the sari border is bottle green as well, saw in other pics, although here it looks black…perhaps that’s why the green blouse. Regardless, don’t like the outfit, or her makeup or the jewelry!

  24. When you are showcasing jewellery, why would you wear a heavy saree and blouse. I like all the things separately, but put together this looks like a mess. She looks cute, but nothing is working.

  25. The sari is pretty and has been draped well…Katrina looks bengali in the pics and almost reminds me Padma Lakshmi in the last pic sans the complexion….

  26. i saw her interview from this event on tv …… God, this woman has screen presence ….. She looked absolutely radiant …..

now i can sit and analyse flaws in her outfit but that time she was just glowing ………
