Giving her Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti maxi another outing was Kareena, seen today wearing the patchwork maxi with green kolhapuris and a hairband. We sure like!

  1. I like the maxi… pretty comfy!
However I noticed in the comments… that there’s a lot of admiration if the celebrity covers herself up ( be it long dresses, sarees, chikankari suits, or salwar kameez… so on and so forth)..
The ones who show some skin in minis or low cut cholis or some midriff etc automatically are trying too hard, not dressing age appropriately, craving for attention so on and so forth.
I sometimes wonder…is it that the clothes are bad or we just like conservatively dressed women?
I’m just wondering so a respectful debate is welcome. Otherwise, peace!

    • Comments on this post? If yes, then while I do like what Kareena is wearing here, I also think that Malaika and Shilpa looked great the other day in the sweater dress.

    • Dont think it has got anything to do with skin show. Most people comment here as it doesn’t appear decent or appears repetitive or not so classy. Sometimes though comments get personal.

    • We’re Indians, its our culture to be covered up. And by that I don’t mean that not coveting up is in any way bad. But that’s our psychology, the way we’re brought up. Like the Koreans or Japanese….

    • I only dislike it when the fit is not correct or otherwise doesn’t suit the body type, but that’s regardless of whether it is relatively covering them or not. I think it’s also different based on the context – where it’s a casual a scenario, I think people just like a kind of dressing that they see as not trying too hard (whether skin baring or not) – I can easily see readers being just as approving with a maxi like this that was sleeveless, backless whatever. And in fact, now that I am thinking of it, given the color scheme here, this maxi probably would look better with a little else fabric up top (making it a bit easier breezier).

    • I think a lot more of us wear covered up clothes in real life more regularly, and hence can relate to these looks, picture ourselves in them, aspire to the looks and the clothes. It is just the appeal of accessible fashion.
