In Manish Malhotra

A more recognizable Kareena made an appearance for a ‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’ event in a maroon Manish Malhotra outfit. There are so many things I didn’t like about this outfit but my top two reasons are the uneven kameez and the choice of footwear. The bronze sandals against the gold strips of the churidaar almost made it look like she was wearing ankle-high sandals, even though she wasn’t.

  1. waist up, ok. hem down, HORRIBLE. I especially HATE the foot wear. The gold border of the salwar and the shoes have merged to create a strange gladiator look. I am convinced she only wears clothes that are given to her for free.

    • she said in an interview that during the shooting of this movie she did felt it would be better for the character, and was fed up with being to skinny.

  2. I like the hair… and that’s basically all
I like the idea of wearing those shoes with that type of traditional wear, but it does look strange with the chudiar
Oh MM, you kill me a little but everyday D:

  4. What is this look? manish malhotra is really taking the mickey now! stitching ribbon and foil borders on plain sheets of fabric and then adding a manish malhotra tag and selling them!! i mean wake up people!!! and kareena? has she stopped her ‘power-yoga’ veg diet or what, perhaps i missed that story? i agree with the ankle strap shoes… makes me want to sing ‘ get these shackles off my feet so i can dance…!!!’

  5. Should we just put a star on her head and stand her in a corner of the living room? A pre-lit up christmas tree! Not a good look at all.

    • LMAO – that is exactly what I thought when I saw this outfit. It is so overdone – the flashy Christmas colors, the green velvet, the gold, the red satin, the bulbs hanging at the end, the ugly gold shoes, etc.

      Only her hair looks good.

BTW, this is definitely a WTHHEY but Kareena seems to get a pass.

  6. Kareena’s arms catch on fast when she gains a little weight. And it looks good.

Let’s see… velvet border, tassel things, shiny neckline, main material with sheen, all round rich and clashing colours, all-round rich hues, detailed hemline, detailed neckline, detialed ankle embellishment… hmmm over-indulgent much Mr Malhotra?

On top of all this, Kareena who clearly does not recognize the words aesthetic or subtle adds very ‘done’ hair, a face full of make up when clearly a little is all that’s ever been needed and
    dazzling bright shoes… sigh

=couple of thousand $$$…..which i’d never pay. either manish is running out of options or he’s asigning work to fashion interns.

    • That maybe an insult the fashion interns 😉 . MM always seems to have produced these overly blingy, loud, aesthetically unappealing clothes. I never did get how he is such a superstar BW fashion designer.

  8. Horrible look, I seem to be in a minority but I dislike her hair as well….. the whole look is what someone in Karol Bagh will wear 🙁 Truly Manish Malhotra needs to take a break and come up with some fresh outfits

  9. I quite like her blingy outfit…only thing is it doesn’t look MM – it looks like just about any festive outfit available from Chandni Chowk – too generic which is why I wouldn’t wear it

  10. Waist up I think she looks good. Below that… not so much. There’s too much going on. I hate the shoes, the churidar and the velvet on the kurta.
