Hitting the runway on day three of WLIFW were Kangna and Deepika for designers Shantanu Goenka & Wendell Rodricks respectively. But, the surprise on the runway came in the form of Tom Alter at the Samant Chauhan show, whose collection was just amazing.
If you’ve been following us on twitter, you’ve probably already seen the similarities spotted in multiple pieces of Shantanu’s collection with that of Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2010 one.

No wonder Shantanu Goenka’s clothes looked so familiar. It’s shameful how blatantly some of our Indian designers copy from more famous names… as if nobody will notice.
im really tired of this lame soft flowy gowns. so generic, where’s the inspiration? where’s the fashion?? indian designers really need to step up
its an outrageous copy down to the accesorizing, but still doesn’t stand a chance to the original.
plagiarism in art should not be tolerated.

Why has Samant Chauhan made handsome, dignified Tom Alter look like the tinpot dictator of some banana republic? or a bandmaster going home after playing at the mass-marriage of all the bridal-looking couples standing behind him.

This is so extremely sad. When you’re a designer of such a level and you don’t have enough creativity to be original…what a disgrace!
