For a recent round of travel, Kangana kept things easy and comfortable in a cashmere phiran from Kashmir Box. Her accessories for the day included a Gucci backpack.
Not a fan of the bag or shoes that she paired with it but, sure love the suit/separates.

Now this is beautiful and well tailored! So much better than the ill fitting look from before. The kurta is exquisite and the cashmere just makes it so luxurious. I love it. I would wear this in a heartbeat. Love everything about the look!
If it wasn’t so windy during winters here, I’d buy some for use in the west too. Do you folks wear phirans in the west? I’d love to hear ideas!

Western countries where the winters are more severe and windy like in northern Europe or colder parts of the USA.
Married into a lovely Kashmiri family, can confirm that some Kashmiri designs are exquisite and 100% appropriate to be worn in colder parts of the world. I have put together some very stylish looks with pherans, embroidered overcoats (antifits FTW) and beautiful pashmina wraps/shawls. Also try embroidered velvet jackets layered over loose kurtas worn with chokers, ankle strap heels and I add brooches just to be extraaaa! 😉
The fabrics and embroideries just make the whole look extremely luxurious.
And that phiran is sold out.

I didn’t hate the look but didn’t love it either. Whether people like it or not we are entitled to our opinions. I didn’t know that not liking Kangana’s style or personality was akin to hitting new lows. You learn something new everyday!
Didn’t know mafia dons in Mumbai wore pherans. Well, for Bollywood everyday is a new day with a potential for a new low. And the same applies to this comment section.
Having said that, your comment also reminded me how far Kangana Ranaut has come since that debut with sheer talent and hard work. To be the playing the protagonist and directing a big budget period movie is no small feat for a Bollywood actress. Wishing her all the success in the world!! She deserves it.
I love the shoe pairing, you wear closed shoes when it is really cold, belive me some people are perpetually cold in plane. Also health and safety thing that way you don’t spill anything on your feet
I love this look and will wear this in a heartbeat. The pheran looks warm and so comfortable with those shoes. May change that bag or just swap for a different colour as it’s the not required colour contrast .
I love the Gucci bag ! It makes the traditional suit look modern A mix of East and West, modern and traditional….very Kangana !
That suit is so warm, luxurious, pretty and elegant. credit where credit is due, Kangana knows to pick her clothes, even if I don’t always agree with her way of styling them.
Kashmiri kurtas are not necessarily made of Pashmina. However, they either have Kashmiri Kadhai work on them or Kashmiri tilla work on them.
These Kashmiri phirans are available plenty near Charminar in Hyderabad. Even better ones, much better ones with better salwars to go with it.
I agree there are better ones available. It’s not that special an outfit. What makes this stand out is Kangana’s personality – her clothes never wear her, even when she wears outlandish things. She has the confidence to carry off whatever she’s wearing and that takes the look from blah to amazing. While it might be for her upcoming movie, she carries ethnic wear very well and manages to look stylish yet modest/demure.
