After attending a talk at the India Pavilion, Kangana attended an after-party at Cannes wearing a Nedret Tagiroglu embellished jacket and pants look from the label’s Fall 2019 collection.
As you can see, for the photo shoot prior to the event, Ms. Ranaut wore the outfit as is but wore a strapless bustier to the actual party later. I understand wanting to show off a fiesty look but not sticking to it felt like a bit of a cop out. I would’ve been totally okay if she’d just reserved the outfit for the photo shoot and changed into something different later.

This will be a minority opinion but Kangana can pull off these edgy looks with her attitude. Some might think it is too risqué/vulgar but this is an evening party (not the red carpet). People have worn see-through stuff on the red carpet. And where better to show off than in the French Riviera. That said, the abbreviated waist coast has a story of its own. It seems she wore it for these pictures at the Hotel Martinez but at some point before/during the party, she had switched to a more conventional black bustier/corset underneath that jacket. Maybe she got cold feet with the look. (Saw it on an instagram video – insert eyeroll)
Hmmm….What is this. It looks good on the model but on her it looks vulgar.
About the model, that’s exactly the reason why Alia can get away with plunging necklines without looking vulgar: in spite of the outfit itself, you can’t see her chest at all.
or maybe she wanted to be comfier at the party and wanted to avoid any wardrobe malfunction. Only she knows what might have led her to do this but she looks great in both the version of the outfits.
I like it very much on the model. Not on Kangana.
Flummoxed and smh. In India she looks like a serious actress who likes fashion. In Cannes like the party girls who flock to these dos…
This is like a sexy matador costume for a men’s magazine shoot.
I like the element of androgyny here. I mean the image a woman dressed as a matador has something very powerful about it. Think Shakira in her music video ‘Te Dejo Madrid’.
Unfortunately instead of being powerful it looks kittenish. Basically as I said men’s mag.
Looks classy on the model and tacky on Kangana.
The outfit looks great in the model. Not so much on Kangna. Maybe because she’s trying to look too “fierce” ??
A lot of people are saying it looks great on the model but not Kangana. How much of that is because of the fact that Kangana is clearly more busty than the model? Both are breasts people just because one is more obviously androgynous and the other person has more breast mass doesn’t make the latter more vulgar. Let’s address that subconscious body shaming.

Kangana chose to have this size breasts so should also choose to wear something she doesnt look vulgar in. Having your breasts spill out in an outfit not designed for your size and then crying body shaming is ridiculous. Common sense must be used

Oh my!!! Quick Science lesson here my friend – The size of a woman’s breasts more often that not is a result of her genetics and hence there is nothing much of a choice for that person to even try to change it . If people like you decide to shame a pretty-thin girl like Kangana for her breasts then I shudder to think what you folks would do to a busty curvy girl …

Ummm..please consider for a hot second that the model’s makeup is also drastically different from Kangana’s; subtle and fresh which actually makes the direct contrast with the clothes much more interesting.
Not to forget that the model looks like she has barely hit puberty and so is still able to get away with the risky look. I doubt the people here saying that she looks better in the outfit would still say the same once she becomes a couple of years older and starts to look like a grown woman.
First look is edgy and ravishing for the photoshoot, but It’s like No No No No No for evening party. Thats time to mingle and giggle with more connects eye to eye.
I may be only one…but she looks pretty darn sexy to me.

For the after party she should have changed her look more – an edgy ponytail maybe – that would have made it look more relaxed overall rather than a cop out.
I think she looks fierce without even trying to look fierce. And I love this hair on her!
I don’t think having a bust and sometimes wearing clothes that showcase them is vulgar – time as place and this was ok for both. And to satisfy all the prudes and to my disappointment – she changed out of it anyway 😛
I liked the outfit on both Kangana and the model equally, they brought a very different element to it.
That’s one ugly outfit… in her attempt to smile kangana looks loony in the 1st row last pic ! Sorry…this girl disappoints at Cannes.
